I'll name him Darth Maul :D

Entschuldigt bitte die Unschärfe, aber der Blick ist doch toll, nicht?

Excuse the blur, but the view is great, isn't it?

Disculpa el desenfoque, pero la vista es genial, ¿no?

The super moon turned out to be a less than optimum event but being out there with Jocelyn and

Bob for the evening made up for it. Playing with fire also made the evening spark :D....

I haven't been on here forever, and the excuses are huge, work, garden, photoshoots, tired, and those darn angry birds. I will have to get back to it and get caught up with my contacts.

I can't help think that the patterna and shape of the abdomen on these look distinctly African.

Name-dropping — identifying the location of a photo — is a big no-no for some urbexers, either because they want to keep the site for themselves or they want to protect it from vandals and firebugs.

Here in the abandoned school, the mantra against identifying locations has itself been vandalized!

We have two species of red true bugs around our house and they seem to have split the land up between them.

Around the front door and on the front of the house (facing south), the black-and-red bug (Lygaeus equestris) is the only one (and abundant throughout the entire season), but to the side, underneath a couple of large thuja trees as well as inside the garden, I only see the firebug (Pyrrhocoris apterus).

This one is the latter, but is much smaller than an adult firebug as it is a nymph (possibly 2nd instar) and along with a whole bunch of brothers and sisters, it was scurrying along when we were clearing some weeds in the garden.
