Finishing up the 1/48th brocante/apartment/artist's loft. I think 6 months on this project is enough, lol.

This golden eagle was starting to eat a rat that had been left for him at about the time we arrived at the zoo this morning. Janice and I walked the campus, and when we returned about an hour later, the eagle was still enjoying the meal.
I've done the best I can to bring out the eagle's eye, but it still seems a little hidden in darkness.
Kids at the finish line at a countryside Naadam celebration.
Take a look at their feet - notice anything?
Naadam is the big festival in the Mongolian summer, where men display their strengths and their buttocks in the three manly events: wrestling, horseracing, and archery.
The events are certainly manly, but the jockeys in the horse races are kids, and women are allowed to participate in two of the events : archery and horse racing.
The legend has it that a woman once won a series of wrestling competitions, and ever since, the costumes that wrestlers wear are open in the front to prevent such a scandal from reoccurring.
You just knew I would need a nice pair of shoes to go along with this outfit, right? Well here they are, my new black patent Mary Janes! (Switched to a black bodysuit too, for an all over black and white theme).

What I found on my walk around the city January 18, 2014 Christchurch New Zealand.
A corner of Christchurch is turning into a battleground where artists armed with spray paint congregate every Saturday. Over seven weeks, eight people will go head to head in live graffiti art battles as part of Style Walls - a new event organised by some of the city's most prominent street artists.
Sponsored by the Christchurch City Council, and part of the Art Beat Project, the event is inspired by similar competitions run internationally. Style Walls organiser Emma Wilson said the focus was on finding and developing new talent.
"Overseas, big name artists compete but here in Christchurch we don't have as many established artists and we thought it would be a great opportunity for the young and emerging."
"Christchurch is the centre for street art at the moment so there is no better place for this to be happening."
In the competition each artist is given a panel measuring 2.4m x 2.4m, five cans of spray paint and three hours to create a masterpiece. The winner proceeds to the next round until only one person is left.
Style Walls will take place every Saturday on the corner of High and Hereford streets between midday and 3pm, with the grand final taking place on February 15. All work from the competition will be shown at a yet to be finalised location from February 22. Organisers are hoping to use the funds raised by the exhibition to run Style Walls as an annual event.

The artist stood back to admire his work. He'd been commissioned to create this scale model of the Statue of Liberty for the museum's new exhibition and it was nearly complete. He'd finally finished applying the base colors and now all that was needed were a few finishing touches.

This vignette was created for Category B of the Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigs Series 6 contest.
The requirement of this category was to create an architectural scene between a Series 6 minifig (in this case, Lady Liberty) and one or more minifigs from Series 1 to 5 (in this case, the Artist from Series 4).
