The ~flirt~ Mine Is Bigger Than Yours Ring in Black Diamond is a one-of-a-kind design made exclusively for the 2009 Jewelry Fair Auction in aid of Oxfam.
The design came about for two reasons. Firstly, as a means to show off to their best advantage the stunning sculpted primwork of Skip Bernard (Sculptacular, slurl.com/secondlife/Root Squared/183/125/146/?title=sculptacular) and the experimental internal ray-tracing reflective prims which Skinkie has been priviledged to use. Secondly, it is a light-hearted tongue-in-cheek poke at the current trends in fashion accessorizing for "the bigger the better". Statement jewellery at it's finest ;-)
Stingray skin on a silver bangle and ring with a Nangka wood with inlaid violet cabibe shell silver studded bracelet. I photographed these for our Natural Collection and as a link image for website. Not something we continued with as it was a little off-piste for us!

This is one of my favourites from the shoot I did on Wednesday. I had the privilege to shoot some jade jewellery for 喜(xi). They needed some images for an A1 sized poster at a major shopping mall, so pretty soon my work is going to be very, VERY, public!!!

I had to create a white background for this image for the Daily Mail as they ended up featuring it in the magazine last weekend.... tricky when I had originally photographed it on black.. I rather liked the effect of keeping the reflection and might use the technique a bit more.

The 7 round brilliant cut diamonds are in a claw setting, arranged with the centre stone raised above the rest and mounted in 18ct white gold.
This is a gorgeous ruby bracelet, with at least 6.5 carats of rubies set in solid 14ct yellow gold (stamped). 6.5 carats of rubies is an underestimation, our GIA appraiser erred on the side of caution. This ruby tennis bracelet has a double locking slot bar clasp for added security.The rubies in this piece are fantastic, with amazing depth and illumination.
The colour of this ruby bracelet was difficult to capture in photos. Good quality rubies are known for their vibrant hues, and like these rubies often have hints of pink or purple. Many ruby bracelets on the market today are in fact pink sapphires, pretty in their own right but not rubies as classified by the GIA and other gemological institutes. These are NOT pink sapphires. Rubies of this clarity are rare and expensive.
This ruby bracelet was originally bought at the Chicago Flagship Fields Store in the 1980's. This jewellery store was well known for its high end diamond and gemstone jewellery. This ruby bracelet was over $1500 American then. This vintage ruby bracelet has been acquired it from it's original owner, and is in fantastic shape as it has been treated with the care that it deserves. This ruby bracelet has been recently appraised at $3400, meaning it would sell most retail stores for a minimum of $4500.
