Rubjergknude light house is no longer in service. It is half covered in a sand dune. There used to be a cafe only a few years ago, but the pressure from the sand, broke the house. You can still see the remains of it.

"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds." - Edward Abbey
In 2017 I was looking to move my life in a different direction. I contacted Royce Bair and booked a private workshop with him. I wanted to learn astro photography and I have always believed you should get the best to learn from. This is my very first "Nightscape" I have reprocessed with all I have learned in the past four and half years.
Another at my favourite local place for images of Loch Lomond. Had a nice opportunity mid sunset to get this silvery milky shot of some submerged trees. Continuing to be impressed with my new firecrest 13 stop filter from Formatt Hitech. I also liked the pinky faint sunset behind the trees. Have a good weekend.
Zion is a great place to re-connect with the night sky, or maybe even get your first view of the Milky Way. Zion protects this dark sky resource for future generations by not lighting up the night. This means that after sunset, the park is very dark so be prepared.
Variant of an image shown last year of a field of wildflowers near home, different time of day, nicer cloud arrangement.
What looks like fire in the sky is actually rain coming down with a fiery hot sunset.
Colorful Fine Art Photography. Sunset on a dirt road location with only 1 house,
Fine art rendition in Photoshop of photo captured on location and represents what I experienced when I found this shot with such a wonderful sunset. I was excited and felt like a photographer on a fine art mission. This post processing represents more of what I felt and saw than if I had used subdued traditional processing.
Nothing was added or removed, no color was added or removed, only the existing colors and light were processed and amplified.

One thing many of us have in common is appreciating the differences in the sky throughout the day. It’s natural to appreciate changes in nature, watching processes take place with effortless ease. You might actively enjoy sky-gazing or just love when you catch those moments of changes in the sky. Regardless, most people love watching the colors ignite and fade.
Fairyland Canyon, located one mile north of the National Park entrance station, offers an opportunity to see hoodoos at an "eye-to-eye" level. These hoodoos have inspired imaginations for years, and visitors today are bound to be as enchanted as were the Paiute Indians, who saw the hoodoos as ancient peoples turned to stone.

Stargazing is as popular now as it was in ancient times when people looked to the heavens for inspiration and comfort. Today, once-in-a-lifetime cosmic phenomenon, and simple old school star-gazing have captured the imaginations of a whole generation. Conditions for viewing the heavens aren't exactly ideal in most of the world. There are locations like southern Utah that still have great stargazing. When you add the incredible sandstone towers of the area, it is nothing short of inspiring.
"When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe." - John Muir
“All you have to do is contemplate a simple grain of sand, and you will see in it all the marvels of creation.”
- Paulo Coelho.
You can find all types of inspiration while looking up at our sky. The sky is beautiful with ever-changing colors and puffy clouds, creating all kinds of formations.
Most of the time, the sky is blue; during sunrise or sunset, you can see yellow, orange colors, red, green, purple, and violet. Those are the skies that captivate most.
If you are lucky enough to see the northern lights or aurora borealis, you will see a beautiful display of light dancing across the night sky.
But if you sit in the Utah desert you can be entranced by the stars. The night sky as so many beautiful colors that our eyes cannot see, but the camera can catch.
This was taken prior to the Fireworks display on the beach at Wildwood, NJ. The fire truck is making sure no one is one the beach for safety reasons!
More than 100 million years ago, the area near Capitol Reef National Park was alternately covered by water from oceans, streams, and lakes in which muds, silts, sands, and mixtures of sediment were deposited. These sediments eventually became mudstones, sandstones, and conglomerates; cavities in these rocks were later filled in with the quartz.
This layer upon layer sequence of sedimentary rock records nearly 200 million years of geologic history. Rock layers in Capitol Reef reveal ancient environments as varied as rivers and swamps (Chinle Formation), Sahara-like deserts (Navajo Sandstone), and shallow oceans (Mancos Shale). Fossils found in these rocks give additional clues about these ancient environments and inhabitants. These ancient sediments were deposited when the region was at or near sea level, far below the current elevation.

To be here in peace, it is necessary to integrate, accept and respect the space of each living form in this dimension ... or simply accept the consequences of not doing so.
Orion is located on the celestial equator and can be seen throughout the world. The constellation is named after the hunter in Greek mythology is one of the most obvious and recognizable constellations in the sky. Two of the ten brightest stars in the sky are located in Orion — Rigel (Beta Orionis) and Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis), according to a stargazing website Astronomy Trek.

While man-made sites like the ancient Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China, fill us with awe, many of the most impressive sites on the planet were crafted by Mother Nature herself.

I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful — an endless prospect of magic and wonder. –Ansel Adams
As children, we are very sensitive to nature’s beauty, finding miracles and interesting things everywhere. As we grow up, we tend to forget how beautiful and magnificent the world is. There is magic and wonder for eyes who know how to look with curiosity and love
“Oh, these vast, calm, measureless mountain days, days in whose light everything seems equally divine, opening a thousand windows to show us God.” – John Muir
I named this image Alpine Reflections. Taken at 9000 feet we were able to get above the smoke from all the wildfires. You can actually see a layer of smoke right at the horizon.
