There's not too much left of this, my old favourite house, seems someone tried to burn her down, so sad... but there is too much sadness and I just needed to dance today

I tried using my distress inks to rub on color to this printable flower from the Pretty Blossoms printable set, but it just smeared the black ink from my inkjet printer all around.
BUT, I found that I could just pounce on the color and that worked well as long as I didn't rub. It also gave the color a neat texture that you can't quite see in this photo I'm afraid. I really like the look IRL.
The background was sponged on using distress inks and then spattered with water. I stamped the floral background with the 'stamp it floral' stamp.
I drew the stem and leaves in by hand with a faber castell big brush marker, then colored over it with a green koh-i-noor pencil to give a bit of depth. Cut out the flower and adhered it with foam tape. Finally, I stamped the sentiment with distress ink.
TFL!
Oh do I love the summer sunsets. For more info check out my bloghttp://katiesquarks.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-love-summer.html
I made this for CFC #36. The theme is black and white. :D Very happy with how it turned out. I ended up using two different blacks. Versamark fine in the top right and memento, the bottom left.
Two teal/aqua cards in a row! I just couldn't decide the color combo, so I used what was still on my desk from the previous card. I need several anniversary cards so I'm not sure who gets this one. TFL!

Winter is starting to feel like it's never going to end, so I decided to cheer myself up with some fun, bright tropical colors. This card is way brighter than I've created in years, but I like how it turned out.
