Social Finance keeps expanding its outreach of ‘’Making Finance Work for Refugees and Host Communities’’ (MFW-R)! This week, our colleagues Yousra Hamed and Margarita Lalayan and MFW-R master trainer Petronella Chigara-Dhitima are in Uganda for the first training of trainers of the programme. This will help the ILO develop a pool of trainers who can offer the programme globally in multiple languages. This week the new trainers are coming together in Entebbe in person for the first time, after a couple of weeks of online webinars to uncover the programme’s content.
"Making Finance Work for Refugees and Host Communities" aims at expanding access to finance for refugees through support to financial institutions in offering appropriate financial services to this target group. It has been developed as part of the PROSPECTS project of the International Labour Organization.
