Building named after Viscount Brendan Bracken who founded the Financial Times and had this building built to accommodate it. He, reputedly, dabbled in the occult, hence the astrological clock above the entrance. The face of his great friend, Winston Churchill, is represented as the sun god in the centre.
It is important to focus on the end result and not the in-between.
Financial Times wisdom quoted on a fabric by Ann Rippin
Another shot of one of the 'eyeball people' from the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe. Maybe I should see if the Financial Times would like to use this one for an ad campaign? :-)
First time on my own with a model in a studio. 3 Lights camera right - first fill light with softbox - lit paper second main light with beauty dish - camera left additional fill. It wasnt quite working with 2 lights so added an extra softbox to make sure the paper didnt cause any undue shadows. Used the FT as didnt know whether a black or white background would be best for the model.
Prepared for the Macro Monday theme, which this week is 'Zigzag'. Sounds easy....but when you start looking for things containing a zigzag shape, they are conspicuous by their absence! Fortunately, the detailing on my brogue has the required pattern, which combined with the concept of rising and falling stock prices has enabled me to wish you all a HMM and I hope you have a prosperous week ahead!

Celtic harp under storm clouds. Courtyard of Ritz Carlton hotel, Powerscourt, Co Wicklow.
Shot dedicated to Sean FitzPatrick, about whom Portishead may have written this song.
And apologies to William Butler Yeats for amending his 'September 1913' poem:
"What need you, being come to sense,
But fumble in a greasy till
And add the halfpence to the pence
And prayer to shivering prayer, until
You have dried the marrow from the bone?
For men were born to pray and save:
Corporate Ireland's dead and gone,
It's with FitzPatrick in the grave."
