Up and down and up and down and up and down...
Dark times, bad times?
The theme "Opel" is such a multifarious theme with so many angles of view that it is difficult for me to describe the picture in a short and clear way.
recession: elegant verbalism for the market crisis. Our ancestors called it quite simply bad times.

Dunkle Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten?

"Can you touch a star?", I am asking an intelligent child?. "Yes", the child tells me by tilting the head and touching the earth.
Hugo von Hofmannsthal (1874-1929).
How many times I have asked myself how is the visual nature of a Global Player? Now, I know it because I have met one with his match-ball.
I have photographed "Woody", the IKEA-man while playing with the earth. The light is coming from the bottom. Sure, I do some work in photoshop. I have had the picture since several days in my mind.

The player with the most money will win the game. To always be one step ahead of the competition, to accumulate money and to gain wealth: That are the aims of Monopoly.
But by playing Monopoly there is one norm: The bank never become bankrupt. Now in the reality the banks and the policy are playing with an absurd amount of money. The money is getting beyond control. Help! The money is burning.
I have not so much time for the picture otherwise my living room is burning ;-)

First I tried a lot of terrible things to damage an Euro-coin, but nothing happened. So I have to do this with photoshop.
I have photographed an Euro-coin and the mirror of the coin (you see above). The dint of the coin is made in photoshop, that is no surprise. It looks a little bit like "sucking you dry" or "Euro in space". It is a soft currency, or?

When I was attending a Marine Corps boot camp graduation ceremony I was deeply moved at the dedication and sacrifice these young men and women evince. I noticed that there were a few new Marines who did not have family with them at this momentous and proud occasion. When I asked my son about it he told me that their families could not make it due to financial hardship, some families just couldn't afford to attend.
The look in the eyes of these young men and women, as they watched the joy, celebration, hugs, and kisses of the families of others, was haunting; although stoic, their eyes belied their emotions.
There is a private organization that helps defray the cost of attending the graduation for family members. Please take a look at this link, and make a donation if you are able to. It would mean a lot to these young men and women who are doing so much for us. Please forward this to anyone else you think might want to help.
thank you very, very much!
I just took a picture of the website on my monitor - so it is not so clear.
