Notes: We use the term “affiliated” to refer to companies that have a business relationship. In the figure above, we identify the specific type of affiliation between companies where it was possible for us to clearly document the specific nature of the affiliation from our audit research and investigative work. In some instances, we identified a business relationship, but the nature of the affiliation was unclear. Also, on the basis of our analysis of pension advance companies, there were other related companies. However, the specific relationships between these other companies are unclear and therefore are not presented in the figure above.
