This photo walk was an examination in the HDR affects in harsh contrast light and then reprocessing over into black & white. I chose between a perfectly exposed original and HDR image when making the black and white.

The colors look at lot softer in person...esp the dark purples. It gets dark so early now that the light outside is terrible by the time I get home, so all my pics have been in my crappy indoor lighting lately :(

Onwards to the JNUSU Elections 2012: Two visions for a JNUSU .
.
An all organization meeting held today has finalized the schedule for JNUSU elections. It is important that the in the run up to JNUSU elections a serious debate is evolved on the issues, which the newly elected JNUSU should take up. The SFI-AISF has already initiated this debate in its pamphlet aated 10.02.2012. We appeal to the student c0rnmunity to participate in this debate enthusiastically. .
Displaying its bankrupt politics the AISA has once again brought back its anti-left agenda to the fore. In a two page pamphlet brought yesterday the AISA has made a barrage of accusations against the SFI-AISF and the Left forces in our country. The AISA should first answer some questions before making the forthcoming JNUSU elections a mudslinging competition against the Left: .
.
What is the AISA's role in the struggle to restore JNUSU elections? Why did the JNUSU Office-Bearers from AISA run away from this struggle after enjoying an extended tenure till February 201 0? Why were their JNUSU Office Bearers absent from the crucial dialogue process with Amicus Curiae? The AISA had proposed elections to AC/BoS instead of JNUSU in August 2010 and had it been for the AISA we would be having AC/BoS and not JNUSU elections today. It was the SFI-AISF leadership which dug its feet and showed steadfast commitment for restoring the JNUSU elections. Right from suggesting the dialogue process with Amicus-Curiae and ensuring that he filed his petition with exemptions in the Supreme Court to the struggle for JNUSU elections in this semester the SFI-AISF has led this struggle and ensured that a broad based unity was formed among the students. .
.
.
The AISA has always considered the Left as its main political enemy. The present political situation in the country is one where both the Congress and the BJP are following the same anti-people nee-liberal policies. Any pro-people alternative to the anti-people Congress and the communal BJP would have to be based on a unity of left-democrattc forces. It is the Left in our country which is leading these struggles. What progressive politics does the AISA want to further by making the Left the main target of its attack? The AISA should also introspect on the political relevance of the CPI ML Liberation in India's oolity today. Will the AISA explain to the students why did the ML Liberation see a complete rout in Bihar. the only place where it had some presence? .
.
.
Afraid of questions about its dubious role in the struggle to restore JNUSU elections and reflecting its sectarian anti-left politics, the AISA wants to convert the debate before JNUSU elections into a slander against th Left in our country Will the neWly elected JNUSU fight for sludent issues and restoration of the JNUSU constitution or only rave and rant against the Left? How is this going to help the JNU student movement? .
.
.
AISA's vicious campaign against the Left Is yet another reminder of its ideological bankruptcy, which cannot provide a constructive vision for the JNUSU which would be elected after a gap of four long years. We appeal to the student community to reject such forces and rally behind the SFI·AISF for a vibrant and fighting JNUSU. .

I recently received an email from someone with some questions about DVD video discs, their files and structure and the relative safety of different methods of DVD recovery or repair. My reply kind of went on a bit as I am inclined to do so I thought I had better post it here so I […]
