This bird flew very close past the boat I was in, so it was virtually frame filling. No idea how I managed to keep it all in the frame!

The official name for the pollen pockets is corbiculae. The pockets are on a bee’s back legs. They are usually yellow or orange. These pockets make it easier for the bees to collect pollen. It would be very tiring for the bees to have to go to their hives to deposit the pollen after each flower they visit. These baskets are found in apid bees, including honey bees and bumblebees, like in this carpenter bee. 🐝

Our first chance / attempt to catch the milky way came quite as a surprise this weekend. We've spent the day at the Jurassic Coast and stayed at 'Durdle Door' for the sunset - and after the sun was down the moon didn't show immediately, and so we managed to catch a glimpse of the milky way just above the horizon...

As seen on a walk. Made me really want a tilt & shift lens (perspective control lens as some manufacturers call them).

Over the years I have planted many perennial flowers. My plan was to have an abundance of sedums, ground covers, bulbs and flowers so the weeds would eventually give up in their attempt to take over. With the addition of butterfly friendly native species, I'm smiling in anticipation of new sights. Have a glorious day and don't forget to admire the plant life in your world. ;)

Filling the hole, green and sweet

Beauty's nature, i do eat

With my eyes, that do travel

Through the trees to unravel

The secrets found, green and sweet

i fill the hole and do eat

All the waiting, delicious treasure

That fill my eyes and give me pleasure

When the shaker runs dry...

Yet another shot I've taken at the creek beside our house. Here, I noticed the small gap in the bokeh in which I placed the new leaf on the tip of the branch. Again, it is a little minimalistic, but I hope you like it!

No better spot on the railroad to show off 5 locomotives on the head end of SAHW than Tulip Trestle.
