Arrivando dentro al piccolo paese ci si nota subito una cosa poco usuale: due chiese. Non solo, ma questi due luoghi di culto sono posti uno di fronte all'altro, quasi si trattasse di due sentinelle ai due lati opposti della strada. Si tratta della parrocchiale dedicata al Santissimo Rendentore (una chiesa costruita nel ventesimo secolo) e della chiesetta di Sant'Agata, piccola costruzione medievale, vera opera d'arte, consacrata nella seconda metà del quattordicesimo secolo.

con l'isolotto baciato dal sole

Of all the valleys in Northern Snowdonia Nant Gwynant is possibly the most picturesque. Judge for yourself.

Took this Mid Morning four image stitched shot, with tripod, a Canon Ultrasonic 24-70mm lens on 24mm, neutral density and polarising filters, from a rocky knoll 440m ( 1,450ft ) - affording an excellent view straight down Nant Gwynant ahead and to the left and the snow covered Yr Wyddfa [Snowdon in English] 1,085m (3,560ft ) to the right. Llyn Gwynant, another of the star's of the show, in shadow, can be seen far left in the context of its true mountain setting.

This was my lunch time view - having just climbed and left the steep hillside path, from the roadside overlooking those distant fields directly below, which leads to nearby Bwlch y Rhediad - a very old route linking Gwynant and the Lledr Valley - over the ridge directly behind me.

I particularly liked the differing light and shadows caused by the changeable conditions as well as the stunningly beautiful scene.

My visit to the hospital yesterday confirmed that I have a SLIPPED DISC :-( whioh will probably keep me away from long walks for up to 6 weeks :-(

Sorry if I end up on and off filckr for a while now - I'm hoping to be able to get some new shots somehow and probably one or two archive images but I'll have to see how it pans out... :-(

Ook van TX Logistik kon er weer een loc worden afgestreept van het lijstje op deze donderdagmiddag.

De 193 582, die voorheen wit door het leven ging, was onderdeel van een ontwerp-wedstrijd van TX, waarbij uiteindelijk het thema "Unser Herz Schlägt Grün" de winnaar werd. Een lastige loc om te fotograferen in een groene omgeving is wel gebleken na meerdere foto's op Filckr.

Inmiddels al onderweg met de bijnaam "Wald-Vectron" passeert de 193 582 met trein 43150 uit Verona naar Keulen Eifeltor bij Karlstadt op 22 juli 2021.
