Beautiful morning, cold and misty... out of the fog five figures loom large, slightly earie and in silhouette... OK maybe not but still, the image looks good, the trees fit the rule of odds and the crop/frame works well for me.

Funerary figures are often surrounded by myths that say they accompany and protect the souls of the deceased in the afterlife. These figures symbolize the belief in life after death and the idea that they help the dead survive in the other world and fulfill their tasks.

Its the one year anniversary of the Intergalactic Saloon today, a discord server made by brickstudios. To celebrate, a bunch of members including me put together a small collab of sci-fi Wild West figures. Enjoy!

Like phantom figures, they briefly appear and just as quickly disappear again into the dense fog.

“Muscle pain is temporary. Hiking memories last for a lifetime.” - Hike Country.

These delightful wooden figures were made by my brother-in-law who gave them to us as a Christmas gift this year. I love them! I set up a page from an old Bruce Trail calendar as a backdrop and took this picture to show off the hikers. Hiking is one of our passions and I feel lucky to have a fantastic hiking buddy and thoughtful family and friends.

This shot was taken with a long lens which foreshortened the distance between Splash Point on the seafront at Eastbourne and the pier in the background. The sun was gradually going down giving the scene a golden glow and the fog was moving in as it froze that evening.

These figures are adorable but they only have like one articulation point the neck, so basically all they do is sit there >_<

September 2025. Rye Beach No 16.

Went for a drive to see this beach, I read about it awhile ago as a scenic stop. We really enjoyed it.

I have seen these in other public parks. Their significance is a little lost on me but they are fun and colourful

I painted a few pairs of legs recently, so I made a couple of figures to show them off!

Please enjoy!

I liked how these two figures were standing back in the shadows of a St. George's Chapel entry (part of the Windsor Castle complex), with a relatively bright frame of carved rock around them. I had no luck in finding out their roles, who they are, or what their robes signify. Guess I should have asked, but we were being ushered out of the Windsor Castle complex as our tour had bumped up against closing time.

Construction of St. George's began in 1475 and was completed in 1511. Since then, it is has seen of lot of history. In more recent times it has been the site of many royal events, including weddings and funerals. Also, many kings and queens are interred in the chapel.

From Wikipedia: The Chapel suffered a great deal of destruction during the English Civil War. Parliamentary forces broke into and plundered the chapel and treasury on 23 October 1642. Further pillage occurred in 1643 when the fifteenth-century chapter house was destroyed, lead was stripped off the chapel roofs, and elements of Henry VIII's unfinished funeral monument were stolen.

In the heart of the city, where the buildings touch sky,

Three figures converge under the sun's watchful eye.

Afternoon light splashes on the asphalt below,

Golden and warm, with a gentle glow.

I hope all are having a fine 2024, so far!

Photo activity has slowed to a trickle (mostly for the weather, ya know), but slowly getting back to it. Have a great mid-week.
