An F-15C Eagle from the 433rd Weapons Squadron drops away from our tanker, during a Red Flag sortie over the Nellis Range. The "Satan's Angels" (433rd WPS) are the Weapons Instructor Course for the F-15C and F-22A. However, the Eagles were dropped from the syllabus back in 2021 as the retirement of the jets began.

2024 Americana Tour - retired warrior. Once the most feared warbird in the skies, the retired warrior now sits silently, literally put out to pasture, welcoming guests to the local airport.
Taken nearly 7 years ago, the Air Force Thunderbirds put on a show at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the class of 2018.

A trio of VFA-81 Super Hornets, recently stopped through McGhee-Tyson Airport for fuel. The jets had a nice collection of mission marks from their previous deployment.

Having returned from Nazi Germany captivity at the ends of the Second World War, Marcel (Bloch) Dassault set out to develop at his own initiative a French fighter jet.
Development started as early as late 1947 and several prototypes were built of which the first flew on 28 Feb 1949.
The Ouragan entered service in 1952 with the Armée de l'Air and remained in production until 1954. Israël, India and El Salvador all bought the Ouragan and it remained in service in El Salvador until 1985.
Ourgans were used in anger in the Middle East during the Suez-Crisis and the Six Day War, while El Salvador used its ex-Israeli Ouragans during the Salvadoran Civill War.
The Ouragan represents an important milestone in aviation history as it was the first true French (developed and built) fighter jet.
The example on display at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, Le Bourget, France is C/N 154.
One of two uploads for a monthly challenge I'm doing with a group of Flickr friends. This month's theme is "looking up".
These were taken at the Melbourne International Airshow, held every two years at Avalon Airport. All eyes were looking up, and cameras pointed skywards, when this US Air Force F-22 Raptor did a high speed fly past with its bomb doors open.

An aircraft I've been wanting to see for a while now, the only airworthy single-seat MiG-15 in Europe. Doesn't she look beautiful in this bare metal scheme with the Polish insignia?
Thought I'd get this in early, just wanted to say thanks for all the kinds words that have been posted this year on my Flickr site.
