Aizu Festival
会津まつり・会津藩公行列
I went to the Aizu Festival this weekend.
The photo shows the departure ceremony for the procession that goes around the city.
At this time, the main keep of Tsuruga Castle is also bustling with activity.
週末は会津まつりに行きました。
写真は市街地を回る行列の出陣式の様子です。同時開催の會津十楽、妖怪屋さんの會津白虎伝説のイベントと、一日中楽しませて頂きました。
この時ばかりは鶴ヶ城の本丸も賑やかです。

We were extremely fortunate to experience the Sanja Matsuri traditional Festival on the weekend we stayed in the Asakusa area of Tokyo. The crowd was very active; here is a group of spectators on the steps of the temple.
Yesterday was the official kickoff to this years Hot Air Balloon Fest. This has been an annual event here for umpteen years now. I first moved here from Florida/Michigan in the Spring of 1978. That September I saw my first Adirondack Balloon Fest and I've seen them nearly every year since.
They have dawn flights of 100 plus on Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there!!

'Pooram' or Elephant Festival is the most colourful temple festival of Thrissur (or Trichur), which attracts thousands of tourists from around the world. This festival is celebrated in the month of April-May.
Arriving in Roscoff before going to the ferry terminal. There was a boat or fishing boat festival taking place.

VanDusen Festival of Lights, a “winter wonderland with more than one million lights decorating 15 acres of VanDusen Botanical Garden”.
An Áo Dài (Vietnamese traditional long dress) fashion show was performed on Trường Tiền, a famous bridge of Hue.

Le lendemain, invité par le Maire, certains cannois sont en attente de gravir le tapis rouge pour y voir le film qui a obtenu la veille la Palme d'Or, film d'Audiard.
(On a eu la chance d'y être aussi invité par un couple d'amis australiens ... top de top que de vivre cette ambiance sommes toutes désuètes)

The next day, invited by the Mayor, some Cannes are waiting to climb the red carpet to see the film that won the day before the Palme d'Or, Audiard film.
(We also had the chance to be instructed to do so by a couple of Australian friends ... top top than to live this atmosphere are all outdated)
This photo is actually from 2009 and I never really did anything with it until now. For many different publications, I was always asked to take a ton of crowd photos and I resented it. Ironically, these are some of the photos I love the most now.
The thing about this photo in particular is that it was taken 7 years ago, which has left me wondering...what happened to this girl. So much can change besides hair color in a person's life. This is just a single and perhaps fractured moment of time for this person. I will know her forever as the really awesome looking girl who seemed a little confused momentarily but completely punk rock. I will probably always wonder what happened to her. But, perhaps, I will run into her this weekend. If you are you, say hello if you see me.,,
