Today I went out to get a few nice shots of cars. Unfortunately I didn't see a lot and than a friend call me for dinner. After that it was already getting dark and on my way home I saw this amazing Ferrari. I didn't expect to be so long outside today so I left my brand new Gorillapod at home. Hate myself for that. So I tried to work with the floor and some pillars that were around. Fortunately one shot came out pretty good :)

The F430 Challenge is a production based racing car built to compete in the Ferrari Challenge. Introduced at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show the car is based on the 430 road car, the transmission is derived from Ferrari's Formula One programme and allows for a 150 milli-second shift time, as is the option on the road car but fifth and sixth gear ratios have been tweaked together with the final drive. There are the obvious drastic weight saving measures, together with an easily detachable steering wheel and a button operated pits radio. A full racing harness and roll cage are also standard

Built since 2006 by Ferrari Corse Clienti department in collaboration with Michelotto Automobili, the F430 GTC is a racing car designed to compete in international GT2 class competition, such as in the American Le Mans Series, Le Mans Series, and FIA GT Championship. F430 GTCs also compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The GTC was the fastest and most developed racing version of the F430.
In FIA GT2 championship, in order to render the car performances more uniform, the cars are forced to run with a specific minimum weight and with an engine restrictor that depends on the engine displacement. Hence the 4.3L V8 engine in GT2 races is destroked to 4.0L in order to compete in the 3.8–4.0L class, which is allowed to race with a minimum weight of 2,425lb. Using the 4.0L engine, the minimum weight of the F430 would increase by 110lb. In this race configuration, the engine produces somewhat less power, but this is compensated by the lower car weight, which yields a better Power-to-weight ratio.
The F430 GTC's won their class championships in the ALMS and FIA GT, as well as scoring class wins at the 2007, 2009 and 2010 12 Hours of Sebring, at the 2008 and 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans and at the 2008 and 2009 Petit Le Mans.

didn't shine on me, but we meet up with this young couple from Australia who must be doing something right. They rented this beautiful Ferrari F430 for a meager $850.00 us for 6 hours, plus a $500.00 us deposit. Even measured the tire thread depth before they left the lot. Well worth the money though they said for this once in a life time opportunity.
