Ovideo is the cultural and commercial capital of the lush green Asturias. This old town is packed with well-preserved old buildings. It has won numerous awards for being the cleanest city in Europe. It hosts the annual Prince of Asturias Awards, recognising international achievement in eight categories. In 2007 Bob Dylan won in the category of Arts and Al Gore in the category of International Cooperation.

I have been following F1 since I was 8 or 9 years old...and never been to a real F1-race...until now :) :)
A great moment to enjoy two passions: photography and F1...not an easy combination...but definitely challenging...and very rewarding!!
When we arrived on Friday, the first session was immediately with F1 cars, the noise is incredible, and when I first saw them through my lense...ADRENALINE...
It was quite difficult in the beginning to keep the camera still (adrenaline, the speed of the cars...I was shaking from excitement!!)
From a photographic level...you need all your knowledge...iso, aperture, shutter times...a bit like butterfly photography....but a bit faster :)
I'm very lucky to have two good mates lending me some good material: from one mate I could borrow a Nikon 300 mm 2.8...and from another one a Nikon D700 (wow...what a difference with my Nikon D3000 (quick autofocusing, fps...and good images at high iso-values) + a Nikon lense 28-300 VR (3,5 - 5,6) and a Nikon 14-24 2,8
I agree...you have to have a good photographic eye...but the material has a true added value

Con lo bien que me sienta el rojo. Pues sí, Alonso es por fin de Ferrari!!!!!!!!! A ver si el año que viene al fin tenemos coche!!
No hay ni siquiera un pliegue en la corriente inmóvil que tapice este día,ni un zarpazo fugaz contra el manso ensimismamiento de las cosas.
Los objetos adquieren una intención secreta, en esta hora que exhalan cierto brillo de utensilios hechos para la enajenación y el extravío, transformando sus oficios en esta exasperada y malsana geometría del suspenso.
Son gárgolas ahora.

Pictured is a 2006 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-21 Grand Prix Car. The car is painted in 2007 McLaren livery which featured on the MP4-22.
It was driven in 2006 by Kimi Raikkonen, Juan-Pablo Montoya and Pedro de la Rosa. This was not one of McLaren's finest, the team failing to win a race all season for the first time since 1996.
All three drivers would finish as high as second during 2006, Raikkonen in Australia and Italy, Montoya in Monaco (his final F1 podium before switching to NASCAR mid-season) and a debut podium for de la Rosa in Hungary.
The McLaren drivers finished fifth (Raikkonen), eighth (Montoya) and eleventh (de la Rosa) in the final standings. McLaren finished third in the constructors standings.
The 2007 version was driven by Fernando Alonso and F1 newcomer Lewis Hamilton. The MP4-22 won eight of the seventeen Grands Prix (four each for Alonso and Hamilton), the drivers finishing equal second in the Drivers Championship. Both were beaten at the final round by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen to miss out by a single point.
McLaren acquired an unenviable achievement in 2007. Having been found in posession of Ferrari technical information, they were fined $100 million and excluded from the Constructors Championship in September.
Incidentally, had they not been excluded, they would still have lost the constructors title to Ferrari on points.

It was driven in 2016 by double Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, 2009 World Champion Jenson Button and Stoffel Vandoorne.
A much anticipated reunion with Honda for 2015 brought misery for McLaren with a woefully underpowered engine ensuring that the team suffered it's worst season since 1980, finishing ninth overall.
An improved Honda engine did see the team move forward in 2016 but nowhere near it's race-winning days of old. The season started in dramatic fashion with Fernando Alonso having a spectacular accident after touching the Haas of Esteban Gutierrez mid-race. The Spaniard flew through the air and the resulting impact saw the double World Champion walk away from the wreckage with two broken ribs. Team-mate Jenson Button had a tough race and trailed home in fourteenth position.
With Alonso ruled out of the following Bahrain Grand Prix on medical grounds McLaren test driver Stoffel Vandoorne stepped in to the car and the young Belgian was a revelation. He outqualified Button for his first Grand Prix and went on to finish a creditable tenth and hand McLaren it's first point of the season. Button retired from the race early on with engine failure.
The third race in China saw Alonso return to the cockpit although he finished the race in twelfth position with Button a further place back.
The Russian Grand Prix saw the team score a double-points finish with Alonso finishing a lapped sixth and Button claiming a solitary point for tenth, both drivers opening their 2016 accounts.
Button finished in ninth position in Spain and matched that in the following race in Monaco, although Alonso bettered that result by coming home fifth, the car's highest placing of the season.
Alonso finished just outside the points in eleventh in Canada and Button matched that in the inaugural European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan.
The following race in Austria saw Button have his best weekend of the season. In mixed conditions the 2009 World Champion qualified an excellent third on the grid and would end the race in sixth position, his best result of the year. After this he would score points in only three more events in what would prove to be his swansong in the sport after a seventeen-year career.
Eighth position in the German Grand Prix was followed by ninth in Malaysia and a further ninth position in the United Stated Grand Prix, the final points finish of his career.
After the heroics of Monaco Alonso would finish seventh in Hungary and Belgium, the latter from the back of the grid after receiving a ridiculous sixty-place grid penalty for changing engine components.
A late tyre change saw Alonso finish the Italian Grand Prix in fourteenth position although, on new rubber, he did take the fastest lap.
Two further seventh positions followed in Singapore and Malaysia (this time from the back after a forty-five place grid penalty!). He matched his best result of the season by finishing fifth in the United States Grand Prix and then rounded of the year with a pair of tenth positions in Brazil and the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Sadly, that final race saw Button end his career with a retirement early on after a kerb-hopping exercise resulted in broken suspension, although he did make a one-off return for McLaren at Monaco in 2017.
At the end of the season, the McLaren drivers would finish tenth (Alonso), fifteenth (Button) and equal eighteenth (Vandoorne) in the championship, McLaren climbing to sixth in the Constructors Championship.

Suelo "pegarle" al ajedrez (eso le digo a la gente).Si hay alguien por aquí que se encuentre en mi misma situación de "jugador único" (aquel que por desgracia,casi siempre tiene que "echar mano" de algún jueguecito más o menos complejo de ordenador para echar una partidilla),sabrá de qué le hablo si digo que generalmente,suelo ganar al Fritz (No sé si diseñado por Kasparov,Anatoli Karpov o "Milikipov" pero vamos,que es "la leche").
Aquel paseo por un parque de Chelsea,nos llevó hasta un pequeño área rodeada de no más de 8 mesas adecuadas para este juego.Las fichas y los derechos sobre el mismo son "propiedad privada" (de quien primero las ocupa).
Para quien no lo sepa,ese aparatito negro de la parte izquierda de la foto,sirve para establecer un tiempo de juego.Dispone de unos pulsadores en su parte superior que se emplean para parar el tiempo (o volver a iniciarlo) una vez finaliza cada movimiento,oséase,si la partida está fijada a 5 min (como era el caso),cada jugador dispone de 5 min para realizar todas sus jugadas.
Con 5 min,la partida se torna en espectáculo.En un pulso-paro-muevo increíblemente rápido,que incluso llamaría la atención de quien siempre ha visto este juego como un pasatiempo aburrido.

Me resultó interesante una perspectiva semicircular,desde la que podía captar buena parte de su espacio mientras jugaban con quien se atreviese a desafiarles así que allí me acomodé.
-Do you want to play? (Escuché desde el lugar que había elegido)
Al girarme,pude observar como aquel hombre de avanzada edad,me llamaba mientras colocaba sus fichas en la mesa que ocupaba y me miraba fijamente.
No...no,thanks.Respondí anteponiendo mi preferencia en ese momento.

La verdad es que me resultó tan ridícula la pregunta (puesto que ya había decidido jugar con él) como el precio.

Encendimos nuestros cigarros (uno tras otro hasta que finalizó su recital) y comenzamos a jugar.
Incluso cuando notaba como me tanteaba dejándome "comerle" alguno de sus peones,podía percibir como "me llevaba de su mano" en todo momento.Aun así,pensé que podía llegar a ganarle.Qué iluso...
La reina es la pieza de ajedrez (junto con el rey,claro está) más importante.Sin ella,a menos que tu contrincante sufra un mareo agudo con resultado de muerte de necesidad,es imposible ganar.Pues bien,aun sigo preguntándome cómo este hombre en su primera subida de fichas,me dejó sin ella.
El resto fue un aguantar sin sentido hasta que se consumió la partida.

Tras despedirnos de él,cuando ya nos íbamos,mi hermana me preguntó :

-Ese hombre se movía y fumaba como lo hacía papá.

Pues no,no me he fijado.
Mentí.No sé por qué lo hice.Solo sé que desde que me miró la primera vez,sentí esa extraña conexión que duró lo mismo que una partida de ajedrez de 5 dólares pero que me llenó más que ninguna otra en 5 meses.
Generalmente no suelo escribir tanto en mis fotografías y siento la molestia de quien se haya leído toda esta parrafada pero quizás sea la fotografía más especial para mi,de las más de 3000 que he traído de este viaje.
Natali....esta es para ti.
