Bem, venho postando umas fotos novas e agora vim aqui com essa que eu já deveria ter postado a décadas atrás. A modelo é uma amiga chamada Kimberllin Jardim, nesse dia faltamos à escola e passamos o dia a fotografar na minha casa, tivemos um resultado muito bom.

As I press "PLAY" my DVD 'fires up' like a 'bacon slicer'. I can already feel 'IT' begin to happen, the sound of the 'living' Magnetism in the opening sequences has started it all of. I don't know whats gonna happen in the Movie, but I do know something has started to happen inside me,
A strange sense of euphoria engulfs me, (I've been here before friend), In Anticipation of the overwhelming entertainment that will soon 'hurtle' onto my screen, I feel like Felix Baumgartner as he stepped of the capsule of his Helium balloon. Theres no turning back now, when I hear the 'Bacon Slicer' start up, "Ahhh" I think, I'm gonna have me a slice of this picture.
My 'Opiates' are ready and waiting for the 'Endorphins' to raise the pain threshold, so I say, "Fly"... Fly my beauties, my pretty little Endophyte molecules, and find my 'lonely brain opiates', and let the blood flow through my veins at 'Black and White Si-Fi Speed'
Welcome avid Si-Fier to RAB'S REVIEWS, The Magnetic Monster 1953 b/w Si-Fi film is a very special film indeed, maybe now is a good time to tell you there is no actual 'monster' in this film ie..(man in monster costume), but this is a Infinitesimal point, and should in no way deter you from watching it, for there are many things in this movie which will frighten and perturb you.
We hear the commentator say, "today new dangers face mankind like", 'crashing the sonic barrier'. Sixty years later, and on behalf of Mr Torr, the commentator and myself we give an unprecedented thank you and well done to 'FELIX'. We are told of a special group of people called, "A"-men whose job it is to sort out all of these dangers to mankind, and meet Dr Jeff Stewart, the unlikely hero, an inquisitive, loving and caring sort of man, chasing the American dream, whose wife is 4 months pregnant, and seems to be troubled because shes so 'skinny'. I should point out that the 'monster' is actually an newly discovered 'element' by Dr Danker of the (OSI), office scientific investigations.
The first scenes of 'living magnetism' we see are at Mr Simons hardware store, clocks have stopped, washing machines are going 'wonky', a lifeless lawnmower suddenly decides that the carpet needs mowing, a smoothing iron glides effortlessly across a table top. The "A"-men get to work, some stiff cardboard a handfull of tacks, and with what looks like a coat hanger, (you will never see improvisation like this again) make a device and locate the 'epicentre' of all the trouble. The "A"-men check for radiation, a lady assistant mistakes a 'ticking' Geiger counter for a bomb, the "A"-men detect 'Paramagnetism', another "A"-man pins radiation 'badges' on their lapels, the police arrive with instructions "shoot to kill".
The dyslogia, and all this activity discombobulated me somewhat, at this point I squirmed at the illogicalness of it all and screamed at the screen "SHOOT TO KILL WHAT!". I had no medication at hand, so told myself over and over again, keep calm keep calm keep calm...
Anyhow the "A"-men 'suit-up' to find the source of the explosion, find a dead body (radition overdose) they continue looking and find a 'lead pot', (this is the monster the 'element' inside the pot), someone says "it must have contained something heavier than Uranium", "whatever it is it can't hide from us".....WHAT!!!! They didn't know where the element was but they knew it would strike again.
So the "A"-men at (OSI) collect all the data they have, and decide to feed it into the (I love this).. 'Brain and Automatically Sequenced Computer, Employing a High Speed Cathode Ray Tube ie.. "THE MANIAC". My dear friend did you grow up in the 70's or 80's, or ever own a spectrum or like mannered computer, which made a 'noise' as it 'loaded-up' your game. Don't miss this scene, because the 'noise' out of the MANIAC, will bring a 'Flurry' of good memories flooding back to you.
So a dangerously radioactive 'element' is at large, and warnings go out to the public. A taxi driver's cab breaks down at the airport due to 'magnetism' (clue), and the "A"-men are 'launched' to the airport to interview the taxi drivers passenger, who describes him as an 60 year old carrying a very heavy suitcase, bring on more "A"-men with Geiger counters and let the hunt begin, (wonderful acting in these scenes, Bud Abbot and Lou Castello would not seem otta place here). They are looking for a Mr Howard Danker, tracking him down like a bloodhound. ( I must say there are fantastic aerial shots of airoplanes in this part of the movie, actual real live footage, they look brilliant, big silver bullets with wings.) Mr Danker is on flight 17 clutching his briefcase, flight 17 is radioed, to return to base airfield, "as your engines may fail at any minute." (Guess what happens next) We hear a 'spluttering' sound as the starboard engine fails, and the air hostess informs the pilot, "we've got a sick man whose gums are bleeding," A blind man's stick is used to remove the briefcase and they return to the airport.
The "A"-men board the plane take the briefcase, Dr Danker is a sick and dieing man,but reveils something of the nature of this mysterious unstable 'element' called "Serium", adding this wonderful line, "I am still in full possession of all my mental faculties." "remember this Stewart keep it under constant eletric charge".. WHY!.."its hungry and has to be fed constantly." "or it will reach out its magnetic arm and anything within its reach it will kill, (ooeeeerrr) its a monster Stewart it grows bigger and bigger" HOW CAN IT BE STOPPED! "other scientists will have to find the solution my contribution is finished, in nuclear research there's no place for lone wolves."
An unsurpassable repertoire of 'method acting' now unfolds, (it could have been written by the late great Tommy Cooper himself) as the team transfer the briefcase across the runway, a metallic trolly is drawn towards the briefcase containing the 'element', (please note, the trolly is not attracted to the briefcase as it approaches, but after it passes, the slack has to be taken up.) They remove the 'element' from the briefcase into a special box and onto a waiting 'lead tinned' truck and away.
A tired Jeff finally gets home to see his wife and says, "when are you gonna start getting fat, tomorrow we're gonna buy a house and a piece of grass," (American dream) his wife replies, "I married a genuis," Jeff adds "and a great lover." A phone call puts paid to all this 'Blarney'. theres been an explosion at the university, "how bad"..."very", Dr Chase and Freedy Lipton 'bought it' (commentator) 4 muders in 2 days the 'element' was hungry.
Jeff arrives at the scene of the explosion, everywhere deserted, theres a sombre despairing wretchedness about the place, but the gloom is soon lifted as the audience behold impulsive, reflex, acting from one of Jeffs colleagues, as a magnetised 'Bolt' from the vinicity of the explosion is brought, and with marvellous 'of the cuff acting' Jeffs colleague makes this scene his own , by the movement of his wrist, shows us how the 'bolt' attracts his wrist watch, the viewer is left in no doupt to the strength of the magnetised 'bolt.' They examine the 'element' under the electronic microscope, (we get a look also), You will see what looks to be a 'childs hallowe'en splarkler', but infact you are witnessing 'Mass forming in supposedly empty space, this process might have been the origin of the Solar System" someone remarks, "YES GENTLEMEN WE ARE WITNESSING THE SECRET OF CREATION."
Many many, exhaustive tests are carried out on the 'element' and all the Data is fed to the computer, six men are 'huddled' around the screen of the 'giant brain machine' called the "MANAIC."

a magnetic flux gauge on the wall starts to fluctuate, as the 'element' starts to play up a bit, they have to feed it electrons, its their only chance, (listen out for some excellent sound effects from the 'MANIAC'-(like a wasp in a Jam-Jar) the electrons manage to keep the 'element' under controll, but it doubles in size, the results show the 'element' will implode every 11 hours and double in size. They have to direct all power to the 'element' to prevent an emplosion. The Mayor is told, "the element is gonna make the Earth fly out of its orbit into space." the Mayor replies "you can't be serious," and is told "Mayor we are only stating facts", they think about firing the 'element' into space, but they haven't got a rocket powerful enough. How about dropping it into the sea ? but an "A"-man points out, that the sea would turn into steam in a couple of weeks. So they decide to use its own power to 'Overfeed it' untill it 'bursts', (900 million volts are required), so they have to fly the 'element' to Novia Scotia, there is a secret generator there, that can supply the voltage.
There are some good aerial scenes (yes actual shots) of american aircraft refuelling in flight. So the team arrive in Novia Scotia, as they descend a mine shaft Jeff inquires, "I hope the Deltatron is powerful enough to do the job", but the Deltatron can only produce 600 million volts. A superb monorail carries the squad under the ocean toward the generator, the 'flood gates' and 'giant watertight doors' open to reveal the Deltatron, a spectacular man-made electronic, nucleonic, dynamic 'piece of kit' you ever did see, unsurpassed only by the Pyramids.
Dr Stewart is in full charge, who informs his colleague, "are only hope is that she breaks the 'element' before she breaks herself." (To me the Deltatron looks like, a couple of old radio valves stuck on top of a childs sandcastle) but Jeff tests it to the limit, and tells everyone to get behind the floodgates for safety. There are some great controlls on the Deltatron, (look out for the danger switch which slides into the wall) as the Deltatron starts up, flashes, sparks, lightenings, wizzes, pops, and bangs, everything goes into the danger zone. One instinctively knows it can't be stopped, then one hears the cry, "get otta here." The floodgates jam and everyone is under threat of drowning, more electrial storms and flashing lightening bolts, the scenario is chaotic. Confusion runs 'amok', (I know what you are thinking) the ecclesiastical, antediluvian, armageddon is happening, but wait, did I not mention a 'Hero'.....Jeff Stewart to the rescue with his trusty bolt cutters.
The Deltatron explodes with a great and mighty cataclysmic extravaganza (eye candy for the b/w si-fi enthusiast), as calmness returns, the large metal floodgates start to attract metal objects, Jeff says "its still alive its the end," but the objects which are stuck to the floodgates start to drop off, Jeff says "we did it Dan, we killed it, its gone forever".
Cut to Jeff returning home to his wife and new house, saying "your not so skinny" she replies "Im working on it, Im getting bigger and better".
I leave you dear reader (with a fine piece of Philosophy). I count this the greatest philosophical ending to a film that ever I heard (it would make Descartes sit up and take notice)...."Done through love the result is a baby, a lovely thing, but without love, done through hate or fear the result is a monster an 'element' that grows." His wife says "Jeff", and holds the keys of their new house up, they go inside, Q some piano music, and a picture of some clouds and its all over.....aahhhhh!!!! Masterful 10/10. Mr Tors, some have genius thrust upon them.
