Always curious, but never too close. So it is kind of ok that he is unsharp :-)

Newer DC Collection: #1

Here's my lego Felix Faust, I think he's an improvement from my last one. I may change the blue to a lighter shade like in Lego DC Supervillains. Not too sure what the cauldron is I just copied it from an image on the DC Wiki.

I'd love to hear what you think, hope you enjoy.

Felix succeeded his brother, Jean-Baptiste, as commandant just before the United States took possession of Louisiana. You can find this house on the adjacent photo of the diorama in the visitor center.

This home is a state historic site and not part of the national historic site. It has been part of the national historic landmark since 1960, however.

An iconic sign and auto dealership on South Figueroa and West Jefferson. Not far from the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles.

A proper stitch for you NFNC fellas. View all Sizes. 2011.

San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 14

Chapter 14 : Felix Felicis

'Yeah...they're - er - really good...' said Harry.

He had no idea what to say to her. He was just wondering whether there was any chance that she had not noticed Ron, that she had merely left the room because the party was a little too rowdy, when she said, in an unnaturally high pitched voice, 'Ron seems to be enjoying the celebrations.'

_

In which Harry pretends to use Felix Felicis, liquid luck, in Ron's drink to give him the confidence to play their Quiddich match against Slytherin. Gryffindor wins and Harry reveals to both Hermione and Ron that he never used it in the first place. In celebration, Ron snogs Lavender leaving Hermione upset. Harry follows to console her.

_

This was one of my favourites, not only to build, but also to photograph. The light streaking through worked perfectly for this setting. I decided to do the scene from the movie of course, instead of the book where Hermione is actually in a classroom. I liked the simplicity and the emptiness of this area in the castle - its a great reflection of how Hermione was currently feeling.

Felix Romuliana was built as a retirement home for emperor Galerius. When Diocletian created the tetrarchy the idea was to restore the Roman Empire by increasing the number of emperors so they could deal with problems on different fronts. There was a college of four emperors, two Augusti and two Caesars, and every ten years the Augusti would elevate their Caesars, put new ones in their place, and retire. This worked exactly once. And then Constantine's father died and he decided he wanted to become emperor in his place. So everything went to hell.

Galerius was Diocletian's Caesar and when the old man retired he became the senior Augustus. He had some successes, but ultimately he oversaw the collapse of the tetrarchic government. He's best known for being the force behind the Great Persecution, where the empire made one last attempt to exterminate Christianity. For that reason we get a wonderful description of Galerius' death from a Christian writer called Lactantius explaining how God placed maggots in the great persecutor's bowels and they ate him up from the inside. Lovely. One of the last acts before he died was to issue an edict of toleration in 311, officially ending the persecution.

The imperial retirement home was uniquely tetrarchic type of architecture. Diocletian built himself a retirement home that is now the core of his hometown of Split. His co-Augustus Maximian presumably built a similar one somewhere else, either in Italy or near his hometown of Sirmium (now covered under the city of Sremska Mitrovica). Maximinus Daza built a smaller one with a mausoleum in the isolated site of Šarkamen. Galerius' is the best preserved. Galerius may have been born in Felix Romuliana, although other sources identify his birthplace as Serdica (Sophia). One thing seems clear: he never had the chance to retire here. He was buried here along with his mother Romula, after whom the site was named, on a hill called Magura above the site. There are two mausoleums and burial mounds which mark the site where Galerius and his mum were deified.

Model created for a contest with «black and white» as a theme at the german origami convention (I didn't win.) I chose this model because it represents one of the first animated character from black and white cartoons, being even older than Mickey Mouse. Looking at wikipedia, it's now 100 years since Felix made his first appearance, a curious coincidence. As a kid, I sometimes saw him on TV. The challenge of the model was obviously in the color changes of the face. I needed a lot of creativity to get it right. The body was very simple to design in comparison. I tried to get as close as possible to proportions on an image of Felix.

It was sold out of service before the takeover of Felix by SYPTE and was converted into a motor home and named "Dinky Villa". It now has become a restoration project back to its original condition but has been moved from The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft where it resided for many years.
