This conical vase with hand-painted stripes, geometric shapes, and abstract depictions of deer is likely by Felanitx Pottery of Majorca, Spain. It was found in Minneapolis.
The sanctuary of Sant Salvador also known as Our Lady of Sant Salvador is situated on the top of the mountain of the same name, at 509 metres altitude, in the municipality of Felanitx.
Its origin dates back to 1348, when the primitive church dedicated to the "Passió de la Imatge" was built. At the beginning of the 18th century the present church was built and the statue of Our Lady of Sant Salvador was placed above the altar. This statue had already been venerated since the end of the 15th century. The remarkable carved stone altarpiece of the "Passió de la Imatge", from the 15th century, was moved to one of the side chapels of the church.
The small chapel half way up the road to the sanctuary, was constructed in 1910 to commemorate the legend of the shepherd boy who found the hidden statue of Our Lady.
The large bronze statue of Christ the King opposite the sanctuary was built in 1934. The cross at the summit of "el Picot" dates from 1957.
Mass is celebrated each Sunday and on holidays, normally at 6 pm. Solemn festive days are celebrated on the Sundays closest to the day and on September 8, commemorating the coronation of the image of Our Lady in 1934.
The church and surroundings buildings, as well as the whole mountain belongs to the Diocese of Mallorca.

The side of the old monastery in this view has been refurbished so that visitors can stay overnight or for a few days and has a modern restaurant.

L'estiu de 2005 dos joves felanitxers ens varen presentar la història de la recuperació dels negatius del fotograf felanitxer Francesc Bonnin (el "Mut Masseta"). www.elmutmasseta.blogspot.com/ Això va despertar el nostre interés per fotos antigues de Felanitx.
Aquestes que aquí present me les va proporcionar Francisca Sureda, filla d'Enrique Sureda, dona de Miquel Massutí i mare de Tomeu, Enrique, Caterina i Sofia, tots ells molt estimats i, crec que un poc familiars més o menys llunyans.
També n'he trobat algunes (molt poques) de l'arxiu de la meva familia nuclear original.
Andreu Manresa, corresponsal de El País, me va passar una còpia del CD de Llatzer Méndez www.llatzer.blogspot.com/ , còpia que he perduda.
Igualment Ramón (Bellver?), homo de n'Antònia de Can Estelrich de Portocolom m'en va proporcionar un altre de fotos que ell havia recopilat. Per cert que, fa uns dies m'he assebentat de que Ramón ha mort. Repeteixo a Antònia l'agraiment que vaig fer al seu marit, al temps que li dono el condol, a ella, familiars i amics d'en Ramón.

I had wanted to find a nice beach to take a farewell-picture before leaving the next morning, with a quick detour to the Monastery. But I got lost on small roads, realising on my way up through the serpentines that I would never make it to the coast in time. My perfect vacation mood started to slip, but the iPod randomly selected Hendrix' cover of "All Along the Watchtower". I cranked the rental's stereo up as loud as possible, and life was good.

Así, título mínimanimalista. Que parezca chachi. (no sé porqué dejan escribir tanto en Flickr, que a las dos palabras ya la cago y paso de parecer alguien una poquita de interesante a ser un analfa-abeto)
Desde este santuario situado en lo alto del monte de Sant Salvador, de 510 metros de altura, podremos disfrutar de unas preciosas vistas de la costa sureste y del interior de Mallorca. En este mismo monte, antes de llegar a la cima, se encuentra la cruz des Picot y delante del santuario está el monumento a Cristo Rey.
