This Airbus A310 (A310-324) was originally delivered new as a passenger-carrying variant to Austrian Airlines, registered as OE-LAB and named "Tokyo," on January 27, 1989. It would next enter service with Spanish carrier, Air Plus Comet (re-registered as EC-HFQ) on July 30, 1999. In January 2002, it was returned to Airbus Financial Service, initially re-registered as F-WIHS on January 27, 2002, and then re-registered as F-WQTA in August 2003. The aircraft was then acquired by Federal Express (FedEx) on August 26, 2004, and converted into a Freighter variant (A310-324(F)) at Dresden Airport, (DRS / EDDC) in April 2005. FedEx would withdraw the aircraft from service on June 21, 2019, and placed it into storage at Southern California Logistics Airport (Victorville Airport) (VCV / KVCV), in Victorville, California, on June 23, 2019.

N610FE was delivered new to Federal Express on August 25, 1993. Formerly known as "Marissa," the spelling of her name was changed to "Marisa" in 2017.

Note the seemingly incongruous bump scabbed on to the port side of this MD-11's radome. That is where the infrared camera for the aircraft's Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) is housed. Images from that IR camera are projected through the cockpit Heads-Up Display (HUD) enabling pilots to land in otherwise below normal minimums in zero visibility conditions during the day and night, thus enhancing FedEx's ability to arrive and deliver its packages on-time.
