4me4you Features 'Monsters, Chambers, and Trapdoors'.
Artist: Georgia Dymock
In 'Monsters, Chambers, and Trapdoors', Georgia Dymock explores the idea of identity, saturating her figures with subtle mythological and fantastical traits. In doing so, the artist invites viewers to question traditional narratives and their own perceptions of heroism and monstrosity.
4me4you recently visited Monsters, Chambers, and Trapdoors, a captivating exhibition at Gillian Jason Gallery, showcasing the latest works by Georgia Dymock. In this thought-provoking body of work, Dymock invites viewers into a world where myth, fantasy, and identity intertwine, populated by voluminous, anthropomorphic figures that challenge conventional narratives around gender, sexuality, and the human form. With her intricate compositions, Dymock delves deep into the subconscious, exploring themes of transformation, desire, and the complexities of selfhood.
At the heart of Monsters, Chambers, and Trapdoors is the idea of identity, explored through figures imbued with subtle mythological and fantastical traits. By saturating her creations with elements of the unreal, Dymock urges us to question not only the nature of heroism and monstrosity but also how we perceive ourselves and others. One recurring motif in her recent works is the pairing of figures—often physically close yet emotionally distant. Drawing inspiration from Plato’s concept of the soulmate, where humans were once unified beings with four arms, four legs, and two heads, Dymock explores the aching separation and yearning that followed their division by Zeus. These paired figures, while physically intimate, convey a palpable sense of detachment, creating a tension that highlights the alienation and objectification of the human body. The cold, metallic surfaces of these figures further emphasise their non-human qualities, evoking a chilling sense of robotic detachment.
This disconnection raises intriguing questions about whether Dymock is creating figurative works or abstract still-life. Her abstraction reduces human forms to their most elemental features, transforming them into symbolic objects that invite reflection on disintegration, dissolution, and the fragmentation of the self. Works like Bathers and Octopus Hattake this fascination with hybrid and fragmented bodies to an extreme, using oversized limbs and textured contrasts to blur the line between allure and danger, exploring the complex interplay of touch, attraction, and threat.
Dymock's exploration of "monstrosity" offers a powerful subversion of societal norms, drawing upon a wide range of sources to reinterpret classical mythological figures. Works like Two-Faced and Sucking Thumbs reimagine figures such as Medusa and the sirens, imbuing them with ambiguity, empathy, and playful tension. These reinterpretations challenge traditional depictions of the female body in myth and art, critiquing how these archetypes have been shaped by visual culture. By presenting figures that embody traits deemed excessive or grotesque, Dymock invites viewers to reconsider their perceptions of beauty, power, and femininity, breaking down rigid standards of behavior and appearance.
Throughout her work, Georgia Dymock creates a space for introspection and dialogue, encouraging us to look beyond surface appearances and engage with the deeper complexities of identity. Her practice, which seamlessly blends traditional painting techniques with digital processes, reflects her ongoing exploration of transformation and the fluidity of forms. Beginning with digital compositions, Dymock manipulates her imagery using programming software before translating these elements onto the canvas. Through an ongoing exchange between digital and analog media, her work evolves, resulting in richly layered oil paintings that synthesize technology and tradition in a dynamic and innovative way.
Currently based in London and represented by Gillian Jason Gallery, Dymock is an emerging talent with an MFA in Fine Art Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art (2023), a GradD from Chelsea College of Art (2020), and a BSc in Anthropology from UCL (2019). Her accomplishments include winning the 2023 Cass Art Prize, being selected as a finalist for the 2024 Ingram Prize, and being named one of the New Contemporaries. Dymock's work is featured in private collections worldwide and is part of the institutional collection of the Museum Inima de Paula in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Transformers Armada Optimus Prime is something I've been wanting to try and build with Lego since late 2017/early 2018. Back then, the available parts at the time meant that building it up to my standards of articulation with reasonable stability would have been borderline impossible. So I ended up shelving the project for several years while I practiced building other things. This was BEFORE it was announced that a new Armada Prime Transformer toy was in the works.
Fast forward to last year, 2022. Lego started producing new ratchet joint parts that were more compact of multiple sizes. Combined with the re-emergence of Armada Transformer toys, I was re-inspired, and knew my time was now to get this project done. I'd had a lot of time to think about it, so I started tinkering with the build, this time fully intent on finishing the project.
I have a tendency to be a perfectionist, which causes me to over-stress over the details. I wanted it ALL out of this Lego MOC: A fully functional Armada Optimus Prime figure with truck cab and trailer, cab robot and and base mode, and most importantly the super mode combination. All with the most articulation I could manage, with all necessary features, accessories, and even both Minicons! The only thing I wasn't worried about was the motorized gimmicks lol, because as cool as the original leader class toy was, I still wished it had knees.
Thank the Lord Jesus, after a year of building, and the last month preparing a video to showcase it (a kind that I had never done before, plus I hate the sound of my own voice lol), it is FINALLY DONE. The project is now complete!
The Armada version of Optimus Prime is a bit obscure these days, but the original deluxe-class figure was my first ever Transformer, and I have fond memories of it, so I'll never forget it. I hope that those who recognize it will like this Lego version! I'm glad to have finally gotten it done.
4me4you features “Lost Souls of Saturn”.
Artist: Seth Troxler & Phil Moffa
Lost Souls of Saturn, consisting primarily of Seth Troxler and Phil Moffa alongside other undisclosed participants, represents an innovative fusion of music, technology, and narrative. Rejecting traditional formats, they traverse various mediums—from vinyl records to digital platforms, art installations to augmented reality, and live performances—crafting an interconnected experience.
Through their endeavors, Troxler, Moffa, and collaborators seek to challenge perceptions and reshape our understanding of reality. They blend the psychedelic ethos of science fiction and early rave culture with contemporary art and postmodern philosophy, endeavouring to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
Their performances have graced esteemed venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Foundation Beyeler in Basel, and the Saatchi Gallery in London.
Noteworthy collaborations include immersive experiences with installation artists like Olafur Eliasson and Ernesto Neto.
In February 2024, Lost Souls of Saturn presents "Reality" at W1 Curates in London, unveiling an augmented reality comic book and companion app set within an immersive gallery environment.
Teaming up with comic artist and AR pioneer Rob Shields, along with Abstract Comic’s co-founder Mike Bundlie, there creation represents a groundbreaking immersive artwork.
Each page of the comic, visible to the naked eye, transforms into animated 3D vistas when viewed through the LSOS app, creating a unique synthetic experience.
The integration of LSOS's soundtrack with the comic book in augmented reality marks a significant milestone.
The music evolves and intertwines seamlessly with the narrative, enhancing emotional engagement and offering readers a truly immersive encounter.
This pioneering synthesis of art and music heralds a new era of collaboration and exploration in the realm of soundtracks, aiming to redefine the boundaries of artistic expression.
Photographic techniques capture electromagnetic wavelengths beyond human vision, revealing features invisible to the naked eye. These signals are processed into interpretable forms using methods like color mapping.
Pink lacks a specific electromagnetic wavelength, while grey poses a limitation due to its representation of only intensity—a blend of light and dark without spectral specificity. Imaging techniques reliant on spectral variation produce identical results for greyscale images unless non-visible data is present. Deviations from this uniformity may indicate errors, misinterpretations, or unknown phenomena.
Contention persists over analytical debates, including dismissible claims like Van Allen belt dangers and contested evidence of lunar mirrors. The precision of laser reflections targeting a moving 3x3-foot marker on the Moon highlights technical skill but often fails to resolve skepticism. For instance, a 0.1° shift moves a laser spot 670 km across the Moon's surface.
Forensic analysis (2022, 2023) of Apollo 11–17 photographs assessed authenticity claims. Images of humans in space, Earth, and the Moon's distant views were validated, but Moon landing visuals showed variations, suggesting diverse techniques may have replicated certain elements.
PEMi (Photoelectromagnetic Image) software enhances forensic analysis by differentiating natural and artificial light sources, revealing hidden features. Each PEMi-ID links to original sources, ensuring traceability and comparison.

The home page of the Missouri City website has three new features for residents: A "Code Enforcement Map", a link to the radio station-1690 AM and "Online Alarm Payments".
Missouri City Website Launches 3 New Features
To make important information even more accessible to residents, the Missouri City website homepage offers three new features. Just look under "Quick Links" at www.missouricitytx.gov.
To learn about code violations in their neighborhood, citizens can click on "Code Enforcement Map". The interactive tool, allows users to select a time period for an enforcement activity, zoom into specific neighborhoods and see information on citations that have been issued and actions that have been taken. If residents click on a circle on the map, it will guide them through a street, block number, type and status of a violation, also identifying the code enforcement officer who cited a property. To report a violation, residents can call the Code Enforcement Hotline at 281-403-8560.
Another new online feature is a link to the City's Radio Station-WQMN 1690 AM. Residents can tune in to the radio station for critical emergency, weather, traffic and road construction bulletins. The station will also allow the City's Emergency Operations Center to provide information and instructions during amber alerts, flash floods, hurricanes, power outages and other emergencies. During non-emergency times, City announcements are featured on the hour and half hour, with NOAA weather information available the rest of the hour.
A third new addition is "Online Alarm Payments". For convenience, residents can renew an existing alarm permit or obtain a new one. Applications can also continue to be mailed in with payment by check or money order. Individuals with questions can call 281-403-8643.
"Missouri City continues to add relevant information to the website that will accommodate our residents in the best possible way," said Communications Director Barbara Brescian. "The three new features now on the homepage demonstrate our continued commitment to transparency and making doing business with the City a simple click away."

"Eastbourne is a town, seaside resort and borough in the non-metropolitan county of East Sussex on the south coast of England, 19 miles (31 km) east of Brighton. Eastbourne is immediately to the east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the larger Eastbourne Downland Estate.
With a seafront consisting largely of Victorian hotels, a pier and a Napoleonic era fort and military museum, Eastbourne was developed at the direction of the Duke of Devonshire from 1859 from four separate hamlets. It has a growing population, a broad economic base and is home to companies in a wide range of industries.
Though Eastbourne is a relatively new town, there is evidence of human occupation in the area from the Stone Age. The town grew as a fashionable tourist resort largely thanks to prominent landowner, William Cavendish, later to become the Duke of Devonshire. Cavendish appointed architect Henry Currey to design a street plan for the town, but not before sending him to Europe to draw inspiration. The resulting mix of architecture is typically Victorian and remains a key feature of Eastbourne" Wikipedia

Yes, I know handling real estate projects has brainwashed me. I don't think they're waterfalls or fountains anymore. I see these things as water features. ^_^
Tenerife.
Day trip on Mount Teide.
Situated on the island of Tenerife, Teide National Park features the Teide-Pico Viejo stratovolcano that, at 3,718 m, is the highest peak on Spanish soil. Rising 7,500 m above the ocean floor, it is regarded as the world’s third-tallest volcanic structure and stands in a spectacular environment. The visual impact of the site is all the greater due to atmospheric conditions that create constantly changing textures and tones in the landscape and a ‘sea of clouds’ that forms a visually impressive backdrop to the mountain. Teide is of global importance in providing evidence of the geological processes that underpin the evolution of oceanic islands.
Echium wildpretii is a species of flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae. It is an herbaceous biennial plant that grows up to 3 m (10 ft) in height. The nominal subspecies is endemic to the island of Tenerife, and is found mainly in Las Cañadas del Teide. The subspecies E. wildpretii subsp. trichosiphon occurs at high altitudes on La Palma. The common names are tower of jewels, red bugloss, Tenerife bugloss or Mount Teide bugloss. The Spanish name for this plant is tajinaste rojo.
This concrete skatepark was build in Zvenigorod, a small town in Moscow area. It was a part of Governors skatepark construction program and has some features for locals to try themselves.

Produced for eighteen years, this juried exhibition features artists living in the
geographical area north of the 45th parallel in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
This line is the halfway point between the equator and the north pole, and crossing
this line from the south is often associated with being “up north.” A new juror
examines hundreds of submissions each year to create an exhibition. No two
presentations are alike.
A note from the Juror Rebecca Heidenberg, co-founder of Dreamsong (Minneapolis)
I was delighted to have the opportunity to be the juror of North of the 45th, the Annual Juried Upper Midwest Art Exhibition. Studying the submissions, I was thrilled to see the diversity of materials, perspectives and subjects offered by artists in the region. Curatorially, I am always looking for threads that run through artworks and the potential for the spark of new connections and conversations between them. I immediately noticed the landscape as an important subject matter, as well as a sensibility that intonates undercurrents of longing, wistfulness and of intimacy, which I sought to emphasize in the selections. A strong sense of place began to emerge in the juxtaposition of landscape, portraits, art historical references, abstraction and spiritualist work. In these times of deep instability, I think each piece in this exhibition, and the space between them, offers the gift of quiet contemplation. I invite you to spend time with the artworks and to be transported, wherever it may take you.
Friday, July 25, 6 pm - Join us for a talk Rebecca Heidenberg with a reception to follow.
