The SqURL founder was playing with a concept for a crowd-sourced male-friendly makeover site as a personal side project. He asked me to brainstorm with him, and also create mockups based on these discussions. I did some wireframes according to his specs and fleshed them out with additional ideas like makeover categories, mini-deadlines and feature content. 4me4you features - ‘HISTORIES IN FLUX’.

4me4you recently had the pleasure of visiting JD Malat Gallery to view "Histories in Flux," a new series of oil paintings by the acclaimed artist Tim Kent.
The paintings exhibited at JD Malat Gallery are reflections of what the artist describes as "playing with art history." These fragmented yet visually coherent compositions of vast interiors, sculptures, historical figures, and classical nudes blur, disconnect, and reshape before the viewer's eyes, critically engaging with the systemic power structures that Western art history has fortified, but which contemporary art must continuously challenge.
"Histories in Flux" presents twelve psychologically charged portraits, architectural depictions of estates, and cultural institutions that highlight key issues related to class, access, privacy, and consumption. Kent both resists and highlights the conformity inherent in traditional painting genres, attuned to contemporary issues. His work transforms and dissects Baroque and Georgian interior spaces, revealing an ominous past with its own dimensional terrain.
Kent's playful engagement with genre—specifically the nude, portraiture, interiors, and narrative painting—results in the distortion of old art historical systems, merging tradition with the contemporary. This imbues his work with subtle criticisms that sever traditional roles of authority. His grid-like fragmentations suggest an empirical reaction from the viewer, turning the once harmonious genre of chamber painting into a realm of architectural dissonance. As Kent states, “The perspective grid becomes a visual metaphor for the interconnectivity of how we construct our visual world and it’s influences across every level of existence.”
These obscured historic scene scapes challenge our understanding of history. Busts, portraits, monuments, museum spaces, and estates serve as vessels for thematic parallels deeply rooted in classism, elitism, and power dynamics. Through his portrayal of these traditional art historical archetypes, Kent exposes the controversial and often overlooked narratives woven into the fabric of art history's canon. While institutional spaces proudly showcase their collections as symbols of cultural education and progress, beneath this veneer lies a concealed tapestry of colonial dominance, imperial knowledge systems, class stratification, and labor obfuscation. Kent's compositions unearth these underlying complex networks, dismantling and deconstructing familiar symbols of tradition. By layering their veneer of opulence and allure with shadows and uncertainties, he transforms these once-celebrated spaces into stark objects that challenge viewers to confront the uncomfortable realities obscured by centuries of glorification.

During London Fashion Week, 4me4you was given the opportunity to witness Jenn Lee’s highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
The show, which took place on Monday, immediately captured attention for its bold and unprecedented blend of fashion and wellness. As the industry increasingly gravitates towards holistic health and self-care, Jenn Lee's collection set a new standard by fusing these lifestyle elements with cutting-edge design.
At the heart of the collection was a unique collaboration with Taiwan’s leading cosmetic acupuncture brand, Qiaosi Yan, further emphasising the growing relationship between beauty, wellness, and high fashion.
This collaboration introduced a fascinating pre-show ritual, unlike anything typically seen in fashion shows. In a striking blend of ancient traditions and modern innovations, Jenn Lee's models participated in an acupuncture session before stepping onto the runway.
The ritual drew from centuries-old Chinese techniques aimed at promoting balance and rejuvenation, while also incorporating the latest in beauty technology.
This holistic preparation was designed to enhance not only the physical appearance of the models but also their mental and emotional well-being. By centering the models’ wellness as an integral part of the show, Jenn Lee’s collection positioned itself at the forefront of a movement that seeks to redefine the relationship between fashion, health, and self-care.
The collection itself was a reflection of this new approach. Jenn Lee drew inspiration from her own childhood nostalgia, weaving playful, imaginative elements into each piece. However, while the designs recalled whimsical memories, they were also grounded in a focus on simplicity and balance—values deeply connected to the wellness-driven ethos of the show.
The garments flowed effortlessly, exuding a sense of ease and harmony that mirrored the inner balance promoted by the acupuncture ritual.
As the models walked the runway, some still adorned with acupuncture needles, the audience witnessed a powerful merging of two worlds.
Jenn Lee’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection not only delivered innovative, forward-thinking fashion but also suggested a future where style and holistic practices are intertwined.
By integrating ancient wellness rituals with modern design, Jenn Lee made a bold statement: fashion can be more than aesthetics—it can be a gateway to well-being.
Elephants are the largest living land animals. Three living species are currently recognised: the African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana), the African forest elephant (L. cyclotis), and the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus). They are the only surviving members of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea; extinct relatives include mammoths and mastodons. Distinctive features of elephants include a long proboscis called a trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, pillar-like legs, and tough but sensitive grey skin. The trunk is prehensile, bringing food and water to the mouth and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. African elephants have larger ears and concave backs, whereas Asian elephants have smaller ears and convex or level backs.
Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia and are found in different habitats, including savannahs, forests, deserts, and marshes. They are herbivorous, and they stay near water when it is accessible. They are considered to be keystone species, due to their impact on their environments. Elephants have a fission–fusion society, in which multiple family groups come together to socialise. Females (cows) tend to live in family groups, which can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with offspring. The leader of a female group, usually the oldest cow, is known as the matriarch.
Males (bulls) leave their family groups when they reach puberty and may live alone or with other males. Adult bulls mostly interact with family groups when looking for a mate. They enter a state of increased testosterone and aggression known as musth, which helps them gain dominance over other males as well as reproductive success. Calves are the centre of attention in their family groups and rely on their mothers for as long as three years. Elephants can live up to 70 years in the wild. They communicate by touch, sight, smell, and sound; elephants use infrasound and seismic communication over long distances. Elephant intelligence has been compared with that of primates and cetaceans. They appear to have self-awareness, and possibly show concern for dying and dead individuals of their kind.
African bush elephants and Asian elephants are listed as endangered and African forest elephants as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). One of the biggest threats to elephant populations is the ivory trade, as the animals are poached for their ivory tusks. Other threats to wild elephants include habitat destruction and conflicts with local people. Elephants are used as working animals in Asia. In the past, they were used in war; today, they are often controversially put on display in zoos, or employed for entertainment in circuses. Elephants have an iconic status in human culture and have been widely featured in art, folklore, religion, literature, and popular culture.
Etosha National Park is a national park in northwestern Namibia and one of the largest national parks in Africa. It was proclaimed a game reserve in March 1907 in Ordinance 88 by the Governor of German South West Africa, Friedrich von Lindequist. It was designated as Wildschutzgebiet in 1958, and was awarded the status of national park in 1967, by an act of parliament of the Republic of South Africa. It spans an area of 22,270 km2 (8,600 sq mi) and was named after the large Etosha pan which is almost entirely within the park. With an area of 4,760 km2 (1,840 sq mi), the Etosha pan covers 23% of the total area of the national park. The area is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds and reptiles, including several threatened and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros. Sixty-one black rhinoceros were killed during poaching in Namibia during 2022, 46 of which were killed in Etosha.
The park is located in the Kunene region[citation needed] and shares boundaries with the regions of Oshana, Oshikoto and Otjozondjupa.
Areas north of the Etosha pan were inhabited by Ovambo people, while various Otjiherero-speaking groups lived immediately outside the current park boundaries. The areas inside the park close to the Etosha pan were inhabited by Khoisan-speaking Hai//om people.
Explorers Charles John Andersson and Francis Galton are the first Europeans to record the existence of the Etosha pan on 29 May 1851, although it was already widely known by locals. These European explorers were traveling with Ovambo copper ore traders when they arrived at Omutjamatunda (now known as Namutoni). They passed through, and discovered the Etosha pan when they traveled north upon leaving Namutoni. The name Etosha comes from the Oshindonga word meaning "Great White Place" referring to the Etosha pan. The Hai//om called the pan Khubus which means "totally bare, white place with lots of dust". The pan is also known as Chums, which refers to the noise made by a person's feet when walking on the clay of the pan.
At this time the Hai//om people recognized the authority of the Ovambo chief at Ondonga but the Hereros did not. The Hai||om were forcibly removed from the park in 1954, ending their hunter-gatherer lifestyle to become landless farm laborers. The Hai||om have had a recognized Traditional Authority since 2004 which helps facilitate communications between the community and the government. The government of Namibia acknowledges the park to be the home of Hai||om people and started to carry out plans to resettle displaced families on farms adjacent to the national park.

"One of the most distinctive features of Chartres Cathedral is the stained glass, both for its quantity and quality. There are 167 windows, including rose windows, round oculi, and tall, pointed lancet windows. The architecture of the cathedral, with its innovative combination of rib vaults and flying buttresses, permitted the construction of much higher and thinner walls, particularly at the top clerestory level, allowing more and larger windows. Also, Chartres contains fewer plain or grisaille windows than later cathedrals, and more windows with densely stained glass panels, making the interior of Chartres darker but the colour of the light deeper and richer."

"Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres), is a Roman Catholic church in Chartres, France, about 80 km (50 miles) southwest of Paris, and is the seat of the Bishop of Chartres. Mostly constructed between 1194 and 1220, it stands at the site of at least five cathedrals that have occupied the site since the Diocese of Chartres was formed as an episcopal see in the 4th century. It is in the High Gothic and Romanesque styles.
"The cathedral was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979, which called it 'the high point of French Gothic art' and a 'masterpiece'.
"The cathedral is well-preserved and well-restored: the majority of the original stained glass windows survive intact, while the architecture has seen only minor changes since the early 13th century. The building's exterior is dominated by heavy flying buttresses which allowed the architects to increase the window size significantly, while the west end is dominated by two contrasting spires – a 105-metre (349 ft) plain pyramid completed around 1160 and a 113-metre (377 ft) early 16th-century Flamboyant spire on top of an older tower. Equally notable are the three great façades, each adorned with hundreds of sculpted figures illustrating key theological themes and narratives.

It remains so to the present, attracting large numbers of Christian pilgrims, many of whom come to venerate its famous relic, the Sancta Camisa, said to be the tunic worn by the Virgin Mary at Christ's birth, as well as large numbers of secular tourists who come to admire the cathedral's architecture and historical merit.
