I'm just seeing if my stream is working yet....

To the right of the Colorado River, feather patterns appear on the front of the cliff, eluding to the Native American inhabitants of this massive land, prior to the induction of the park to present times.

Feather floating on the surface of Lords Lake.

There’s a number of feathers that have been pushed into the top of fence posts along the path where I walk my dogs. This one has weathered really nicely over the past few months.

This is a close-up photo of two backlit feathers - one from a macaw, one from a crow.

Swallows are very fast and acrobatic fliers. They have to be to catch their food, flying insects, on the wing.

While in southern Ontario last month, on my spring migration trip, I decided to try and capture some images of swallows in flight. It was a very challenging exercise and I despite many attempts I was only able to get a few reasonable shots. Frequently just as I would get a bird in focus it would swerve left, right, up or down before I could take its picture.

This image of a male Tree Swallow was created in Wheatley Provincial Park in the early evening of May 7, 2017. The light was fading and I really had to boost my ISO in order to minimise blur. I needed to apply noise reduction to improve the final image.

A Feather from my craft kit and a marble from the bottom of a drawer, put them together and this is what you get.

Its amazing what you see when you start taking macro photos, I didn't realise there were tiny bubbles in the marble until i was editing.

I found this feather today on my way to work, it is about 2 inch.

Thanks for your visit and comments I appreciate that very much.

My faux Coon skin cap from Disneyland along with the feathery tail from a toy bird. This theme by Margaret reminds me of singing "Feathers, fur or fins" by Don Spencer to my kids all those years ago when they were little.

I really wasn't sure what to post this morning, then I discovered a comment from Madeleine, who had recently commented on the feather I had posted a few days ago. Pushapoze Madeleine added a link to the theme tune from Forrest Gump which seemed perfect. "The first song is played while the hero watches a feather fly by." Thank you Madeleine

I needed coffee this morning and stopped at the Weather Center to buy some. After that, I took a walk along the riverfront (Sheboygan, Wisconsin). The swallows were especially cooperative, for a change.

I thought that the rope looked like a snake wrapped around the mooring,

I don't have a clue as to the name of this bird, but it is really beautiful

Just remember that Dumbo didn't need the feather;

the magic was in him.

(Stephen King)

Significance:

In the 1941 Disney movie Dumbo, a little elephant with big ears, can fly.

Dumbo thinks the reason he's able to fly is because of a (black) feather he carries in his trunk. For him, that feather is the source of all his confidence, a reminder that he's capable of magical things.

The color and shapes of the different feather layers has a sculptural quality that I find fascinating. Found in the Kurpark in Bad Homburg, Germany.
