In the forest there are many magic things
You just need to be there
Be there in the moment
Observe
Breathe with your belly
Not putting your nose in your phone
Not even deep diving into your camera
That must wait
I of course had to let go of Aiko's leash, how could I capture this lil one if the leash was jumping and pulling me
Magic moments are precious
Come on, let me see you shake your tail feather
For Macro Monday's "abstract" theme.
After the peacock that I posted a couple of days ago enjoyed his fine dining on grubs in our front lawn this week, I thought a peacock feather might be an appropriate subject for the "abstract" theme.
Fun fact for the day: Peacock feathers are covered in microscopic crystal-like structures which help make the iridescent colours off their feathers shine! They are literally bejewelled!
Happy new week everyone.
PS - are you singing Blue's Brothers in your head right now ;)
Possibly a swan feather floating in the very green water of the pond in the park. Do Zoom in to see the detail.
Tijdens een wandeling met de hond vond ik deze twee veertjes langs de kant van de weg. Het leek me een geschikt onderwerp voor de challenge weerspiegeling.
While taking a walk with the dog, I found these two small feathers on the side of the road. I thought it would be a good subject for the challenge reflection.
Thanks for taking time to comment, fave and look at my work. I really appreciate.
I am always finding these little feathers coming out of my lounge cushions. They make a soft filling but the sharp end often finds its way through the fabric. Set up on a mirror this feather is 20mm long.
For this week's "Looking close... on Friday!" theme, "Reflection on Black Background". A Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) feather I found some weeks ago during a walk. Sometimes I bring random stuff home, and later find some use for it :)
GROUP: LOOKING CLOSE...ON FRIDAY
THEME: WHITE ON WHITE
SUBJECT: A FEATHER ON A WHITE BINDER
(photographed under a tree at 95 degrees and a slight breeze!)
Motion blur with a feather. A very small fluffy feather found on the patio today. HMM:) Thank you all for your kind comments.
Macro Mondays: "High Key"
A simple feather I found in the yrad, placed on a white acrylic sheet. Lit be constant LED light.
The image is about 7 cm (2.75 inches) on the long edge.
A little feather floated into the office. Make something of it, I thought.

Easy Lith Special 1+20 and 2nd pass lith solarised.
I happened to notice this small (3/4", 17 mm) feather resting on a coleus leaf. One thing about having bird feeders is that every now and then you'll find a feather in an interesting spot, for a shot...
Kereru feather crop to help appreciate the amazing colours. I can hear KB asking "where do they get all the gold?" although in this case it would be where did they get all the thing that makes them shimmer like this?
These icy feather shapes formed on my windscreen over night. I thought they were very strange, I've never seen them before.
When it comes to floating feathers, I am a feather brain...I love love love em. Was a windy day so it was blowing all around.
" Feathered assassin "
Thank you most kindly for stopping by to view my work.
If you find you have a few words to say about what I have done they will much appreciated.
My best regards to you.... Martin
