E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rules that apply to material handling. Mr PB's favoured form of telecommunication is the humble fax machine.
It's not conventional, but neither is Mrs PB.
Carrying hers in her pocket at all times, her frequent facsimiles allow her to express herself in its rawest form.
The angry sound of the pulse dial and paper spewing out the other end, perfectly compliment her shouty instructions!
Today though, she decided to dabble with the telephone.
Coincidentally, today there was also a huge surge in the number of nuisance calls.
But he still loses things. It's hard to keep a desk neat. We have a long counter, and he's on one end and I'm on the other. Between us are my printer and the telephone/fax machine. We don't share much of anything there..... each of us has his or her stapler, printer, pencil jug(s), coaster (gotta have a coaster!) and personal items. We each have a calendar. I think the only things we share are the bulletin board and the phone.
Bit of a clunky technology that's on the way out, but it has its uses. We tend to use them for booking media and signing NDA's. They can come in handy during postal strikes too.

The fax machine operates by transmitting graphic and text images from one location to another through telephone lines. A transmitting machine uses a scanner to convert the black and white representations of the image into electrical signals that are sent through the telephone lines to a designated receiving machine. Because of the fax machine, we are able to send important papers to people so they can be documented or signed, etc.
