Managed to get Dyelk to agree to go out painting after a break of 5 months. Blackmailed him with the "It's my birthday" line.
When we got there, there was a crutch on the floor. Some kid came along and watched us for a bit, then he asked who the crutch belonged to. I pointed at Dan "It was his, but look! Behold! He has been cured by the power of graffiti!"
Bitterly cold day. My hands were cold even wearing gloves. Some writer I'd never seen before, came walking along. I looked at him and nodded my head to acknowledge him, he nodded back. I should of, in hindsight, taken my hands out of my the front of my tracksuit bottoms, but cradling my nuts seemed to be the only way to get the feeling back in my fingers. I convinced myself that he'd understand I was warming my hands, not having an alfresco J Arthur...

Last weeks E is this weeks 3....
Weird day. I got there early (7:30) because I knew I'd have to do some expanding foam work on the Lakeside joints, as me and Crane were going to paint next each other and the character wouldn't take up a whole panel. Sketched something half reasonable the night before and decided to paint a simple piece as well.
But the morning was damp, no rain, but the emulsion took for ever to dry. and the emulsion reacted with what was on the wall and turned from dark Blue to black. It seemed to waste so much of the morning.
Then as the day wore on, I was convinced that I couldn't get everything finished.
Then came the phone call from her indoors....
"It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to finish this today" I told her, "I might need to come back tomorrow to finish off"
Got a load of earache, promised a curry and shopping trip and cracked on, and managed to finish everything around 5:20.
Now I'm still tied into a shopping trip (just got back from having a ruby) :(
Homeboy HEX ONE was the originator of this L.A. old school NY Boogie Down Bronx BBOY. Hex stayed in Flatbush Brooklyn and Manhatten as a kid learning graff tactics from some of the downest heads on the scene. He had been learning letters schemes in Los Angeles prior to this from his Chicago uncles, cousin Bruno, that rocked the very first stylized bboy he ever saw, and from the Older cholos and heads he ran with in East Los Angeles as a 12 year old carnal.

Wall in Carianos, with Mumu and Noia, in 2010. The guys over there are very friendly, one of my favorite places to paint. Always with a cold beer and good conversation.
The name Mr. Vadinho came from an old fisherman of Barra da Lagoa, in Florianópolis, that a friend always talked about. This guy stayed a lifetime in the same place, just living from fishing and small businesses. They say he did the weather forecast for the next few weeks and always get it right, the enormous practical knowledge that this old man had. Sea conditions, rain and cold front, Mr. Vadinho knew everything because he had seen everything, in his simple life as a fisherman.
