*About 30 mins before i finished this piece i realized i ran outta ultra fatcaps... for the high-lights flair and shit... so i went back all the way home, grabbed some fat caps and went back to finish this shit.
say hello to my little friend!

Well done UK weather forecasters,,, you all said "overcast but mild, around 11 degrees"...... You're 'avin a bubble, more like -2 all day with not a hint of sun....so flippin cold again, forget summer, roll on spring, we need some warmth in our life.
I decided one thing before i painted... background, i've been lacking depth lately, so, a concerted effort to help lift the piece today. Time for a roast now, gotta warm me cockles.
Shouts to all present, 10 in total, good day, all be it cold. Thanks to ALL CHROME for the inspiration on background ;)

Painted this one in Dublin, Ireland early last July for the Kings of Concrete festival there. All fatcaps. It's based on a detail from a painting from 1878 I saw at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts by Gabriel Max titled "the Raising of Jairus' Daughter". The power and gracefulness of the hands stood out to me, and carried as much expression as a portrait. The red hand carries a deeper history of symbology behind it, as the Red Hand of Ulster is an important symbol from Irish mythology. The conflicts in Ireland have not ended and this was my subtle artistic response.
Many thanks to Shane and Dave for making it all happen, Amanda, Christo, Sophie, Aidan & Laura, and all the other kind folks I met there!
