Ramadhan is a very important part of every Muslim's life. Ramadhan is the month of giving and mercy, and during this month Allah blesses the believers with forgiveness and great reward.

This sunset was taken at Badshahi Mosque, Lahore.

I am late in wishing all my Muslim friends on flickr a very happy ramadan.

Ramadan is the month of fasting for all muslims. We keep our fast from sunrise to sunset, and break the fast with all kinds of yummilicious food.

This is a shot from an Iftar ( the breaking of fast) selling restaurant.

There were so many more items on display, I just had to post this one first because I like to break my fast with sweets!

Happy end of the Ramadan on Sumatra - Indonesia in the year 1431 of the Islamic Calendar.

Idul Fitri (Arabic: عيد الفطر ‎Eid ul-Fitr) is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

In Indonesia it is an annual tradition (called halal bi-halal) that people travel to their home towns to visit family and friends, request forgiveness and celebrate with the whole family. This causes one of the largest temporary human migrations globally (know as Mudik).

We were invited by the hospitable and very friendly people on Sumatra to join the celebrations and posed for many family portraits.

Idul Fitri (Arabisch: عيد الفطر Eid ul-Fitr) is een islamitisch feest aan het einde van de ramadan, de islamitische vastenmaand.

In Indonesië is het een jaarlijkse traditie (de zogenaamde halal bi-halal) om in die periode terug te keren naar je geboorteplaats om de familie en vrienden te bezoeken, vergeving te vragen en met de hele familie samen te zijn. Dit veroorzaakt een van de grootste tijdelijke menselijke migraties wereldwijd (bekend als Mudik).

We waren uitgenodigd door de gastvrije en zeer vriendelijke mensen op Sumatra om deel te nemen aan de feestelijkheden en model te staan voor vele familieportretten.
