Too bad I didn't take a "before" under-the-desk photo. Trust me: even with these few stragglers, this is vast improvement! I did manage to capture a few dust bunnies for posterity, though.

There are several types of rivets that affix the various pieces to the caboose. They are riveted and the either secured by a quick spot weld or they are hit with what appears to be a bald pine hammer. To remove a rivet several steps are involved. First they are cut flush using a cutting wheel. Second a punch is used to knock out the middle and third a drill is used to ream out the remaining parts of the rivet. One drill bit will last about two rivets.

Williams Fasteners, was founded in 1870 by the Williams brothers, and was based at Green Lane in Shalesmoor in Sheffield until 1997. The company then relocated to the outskirts of Sheffield near the M1 to make distribution easier
The signs on the outside say it made screws, nails and the likes. Now it is empty and derelict.
It has been a home to lightenginefilms.co.uk/ and we have done many visits, this one in The Snow of 2009.
