If ads could bring diplomatic relationships between nations to a grinding halt, it is well evidenced in an ad poster launched by a clothing company Relish. The ad poster simulates Rio de Janeiro police officers aggressively handling European tourists with a man having a hand up one of the women’s skirt. The posters have begun to appear in Milan, Bologna, and Naples and has offended the military police of Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian tourism ministry has sought an explanation and immediate withdrawal of the ‘offending’ pictures.
The Special Secretary of Tourism of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Antonio Figueira de Mello, said, “This type of advertising not only violates the Military Police as compromises the image of Rio and the Rio. It is unfortunate that events like those occurring in the 21st century.” The posters are meant to convey a sense of irresistibility for others if the user wore clothes launched by Relish.
I guess, the Rio de Janeiro police are in no mood to smile the ‘joke’ away and has resulted in a standoff between the two nations. Maybe the Brazilian government could relax a bit for the cop picturized in the poster is a little too handsome for a city that is riddled with crime, gang wars, drug dealers and favela dwellers.

I'm no slave to fashion. Truth be told, I prefer a T-shirt with a pocket to put my remote in. In Winter, a hoodfie. A hat to keep my bald head from getting sunburn. Jeans or khakis. Chucks for comfort. And a watch that tells me the time.

Fashion Queen Barbie in a suit I made for her. The dress underneath the jacket features a bias-cut placket at the neckline and two functional pockets at the hips, trimmed with black buttons.
A lot of the clothes then were designed so stark and simple, in lieu of fancier embellishment and with a nod to the Space Age, that they used to rely on "hidden geometry" as decoration. The three buttons here are supposed to create a "triangle" shape in the mind's eye, and add to the allure of the garment. Did it work, here? Debatable. : )
OK, these particular displays looked rather picked over, but at least that girls clothing department in the background (and other apparel/shoe departments for that matter) were much better kept.
