When COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions on cross-border trade impacted her business, Yata received a grant from UNDP and took part in trainings developed as part of UNDP’s support to revive affected businesses owned by women in Sierra Leone’s borderland communities. Women fishmongers in Yata’s chiefdom also received 25 solar refrigerators to help preserve and add value to their fish products.
