A photostory for you:
Maggy: Why are we here?
Viv: Mom wanted to take us to a fancy resteraunt.
Stella: I feel like a daisy.
Viv: You look great. And it IS called The Fancy Resteraunt.
Maggy: Says the girl wearing converse.
Viv: Hey!
Stella: Why me?
Maggy: Why are we sitting on this giant couch?
Viv: It's the waiting area.
Stella: Sometimes I hate life.
Maggy: Oh. Why am I wearing your stock outfit?
Viv: You had nothing else.
Maggy: I could have worn MY stock outfit.
Viv: It's too...playground.
Maggy: Well then.
Stella: I hope nobody I know sees me like this.
Another IMPORTANT THING:
I am going to Texas for about a week tomorow, so I won't be on flickr. And I wanted to wish the HAPPIEST birthday to the wonderful and adorabubble(and not poorags) Emma. Happy Birthday Huuuuuuuun! A million chu's!
These were located near the elevators of the Holiday Inn near the Orchard Center in Singapore. I love that hotel.

I made some fancy pillows, yes I did! My living room needed some instant color and a quick facelift. A few fancy pillows did the trick. I used Anna Maria Horner fabric plus a bit of gorgeous grey linen (LOVE linen). I have to admit, I have a bit of a "girl crush" on Anna. She is just so amazing! Besides her family life and her incredible career, her fabrics really speak to me. Plus, she's adorable, don't ya think? I love all of her fabric lines, first I fell hard for Chocolate Lolipop, then I was a Garden Party lush, now Good Folks...just can't get enough of it. These pillows mix together those three fabric lines for a fancy and festive, good time! Opa!
Mezze plate is like Turkish tapas to be eaten with bread. These were various yogurt dips and salads plated artfully.

It took us a few seconds to figure what IROP is! Well, it was linen, and reasonably priced, so it's got to be Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Fancy new name. Do people not want Made in Pakistan any more?
Steve and I decided to splurge and try the really expensive jamon from Spain, only recently available in this country:
Jamon Iberico de Bellota, aged 36 months, Acorn Fed (Spain)
It was served with Firebrand Artisanal Bread, which was the perfect counterpart to the ham. The ham itself grew on us. By the end, we were both eying the last piece. I think I was expecting a flavor more like Prosciutto di Parma, but it was different. We'll have to try some of the others sometime for comparison.

Well....
I must say this little owl has something up her sleeve (or wing!) Just by looking at her you are more than inclined to believe she must sip the priciest foreign-originated coffee at the fanciest cafe's every morning just before she goes shopping at the glamorous antique stores looking for that perfect full length mirror and gaudy pearl necklaces
No, really.....
Fancy owl was created for part of my pen/ink 'owl series' .. A series of quite expressive, 'cartoonish' owls filled to the brim with cuteness despite their sometimes snooty attitudes (consider yourself warned!)
Thank you for checking her out ...(she thanks you too...) : )

The Stykkisholmurkirkja - or the church in Stykkisholmur. Pretty fancy digs for such a remote little town!
We made some hot tea with our new Fancy Feast stove today. A modified (empty) Fancy Feast can with denatured alcohol for fuel. Aluminum Foil wind screen. Worked pretty good. Hardest thing is you can't see the flame!
Amtrak 517 is leading Hiawatha service train #338 Eastbound at Deerfield, IL. Earlier in the day I overheard Rondout tower talking to the engineer and the operator said wow you have some fancy power today!
