Props to my younger sister who helped formulate the idea, and to my brother who made the awesome kraken.

Life isnt about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning how to dance in the rain..

When the film about the Night of the Raven was released, Somewhereville became less of a quiet, odd little city and more of a stage set for the curious, the obsessed, and the exploitative. The streets filled with tour buses, souvenir carts, and amateur ghost-hunters. The locals felt suffocated. Past recipients who had managed to live quietly were suddenly exposed, their names passed around on fan forums. Curious fans knocked on their doors at night, leaving little black feathers on porches. Some recipients moved away entirely; others became reclusive. This took a heavy and lasting toll on the recipients who decided to stay. Shown above is a crowd of concerned residents gathered outside the offices of The Somewhereville Ledger & Lantern to protest the newspaper's complicity in the events.

So I got recently confirmed from my dealer for these two dolls. I only want Beauty/Lukas but most dealers aren't selling them separately as he appears to be selling better than Beast/Pizzazz. With money tight at the moment I intended to pick just one but I had to take them both in fear that Lukas might be sold out at this time even with an 800 edition size. Now it's not that I don't like Beast, I actually think she's stunning but when it comes to Fashion Royalty I tend to not veer towards avant garde which most Nu.Fanasty releases tend to go that route. I've also had enough with purple eyeshadows with red lipstick combo. I love the fact that she has the Pizzazz from The Stingers head sculpt since a lot of the Jem sculpts are just gorgeous and has the potential to be used for new characters in the FR universe. I'm also thrilled to see this doll with the newly refreshed FR2 2.0 body which will become the official body type that will be used for every doll in the main FR line. Though I do not like the fact that this Beast character has no name since the story description of Beauty is indeed confirmed as Lukas. I would be in heaven if this Pizzazz sculpt is a replacement to Kesenia who is in need of a refreshed sculpt despite being so gorgeous in the FR Classic Collection. Now, Lukas is a no brainer. I definitely want him! There are only two past versions of Lukas that I liked and that's Rock Ringmaster and Style Strategy. It's because I thought they were the most striking and I wanted IT to release a new Lukas with that similar face screening and so I felt like they were reading my mind. I got the ideal Lukas that I wanted. Blue eyes and all. Now I'm not quite sure about his fashions. I feel like I have so many gray and black fashions for the Hommes that a pop of color added to their wardrobe is much needed. I also feel like it's borderline costumey instead of it being high fashion. I have yet to see a photo of where they got the inspiration from. Over all I am loving the twist on the concept of this age old fairy tale with lots of edgy and glamorous elements that is right up my doll alley.

I step into the enchanting realm of fantasy, draped in a mesmerizing gown that swirls with deep violets, rich indigos, and cosmic blues. The gown embodies the galaxy's breathtaking beauty. The flowing fabric dances like stardust, capturing the mystery and elegance of the universe.

A radiant crystal tiara crowns my head, its icy spikes framing my face like a celestial halo. In one hand, I hold a delicate parasol adorned with intricate patterns that echo the constellations. Every detail embodies balance—fierce yet gentle, powerful yet poised.

Standing on a misty bridge against a dreamy pastel sky, I invite you into a world where magic reigns and possibilities sparkle. This moment, filled with soft light and glimmering particles, feels both ethereal and timeless.

Northridge Class of 1958,

First Grade To Graduation

----- It was Wednesday, September 5, 1946, a day like all days, except it was the first day of school at Northridge for the "Class Of 1958". Entering those doors that first day were Charles Arndts, Lana Becker, Larry Bollheimer, Marilyn Bolon, Dreama Bush, Joyce Bush, Mary Alice Brumbaugh, Judy Cook, Ruthann Cooper, Nina (Betty) Cope, Judy Craig, Tyrone Crumrine, Tom Dawson, Darla Fisher, Warrennetta Fowler, Mary Ferguson, Carol Grigsby, Ed Harris, Mary Hagens, Norm Hayes, Frances Horton, Frank Johnson, Dennis Jourdan, Stanley Knight, Roger Koerner, Nancy Leveck, Dan Logel, Ruth Ann Lupton, Myron McClain, Thelma McQuire, Glen Martin, Mike Mescher, Oscar Mullins, David Owens, Jerry Parsons, Jim Ramby, Louann Reiglesperger, Daniel Reuber, Ginger Rogers, Larry Safreed, Bob Sandifer, Morris Scott, Jack Smart, Keith Snell, Marty Stayrook, Joyce Strange, Jim Tharpe, Cora Belle Thomas, Patricia Watson, and Joyce Woodrum. Many things happened that first year; some we can discuss and some we shouldn't. Judy Cook, Mike McClain, and Oscar Mullins learned that "The Bank" was off limits to first graders and spankings were the penalty. Warrennetta chewed up her pink crayon when she couldn't mooch some bubble gum. School for Mike Mescher was just a touch and go thing. He would only stay there long enough to touch his desk and then go back home only to be brought back to school by his mother or Mr. Riffel. This wonderful new experience of school ended with a picnic on the football field.

-----The first day of school in the second grade we found new friends joining us. They were JoAnne Snodgrass, Phyllis Robinette, Robert O'Connell, Kenny Hisle, Brenda Burns, Phill Wilson, and Donnie Moseley. This was the year Frank Johnson finally let his mother go home and not stay with him. Ginger and the new girl, Brenda, got into a terrible fight, which they say they can't remember why (ha), but they had to kiss and make up in front of the class. We had Halloween parties, gift exchanges, Valentine parties, and of course a picnic on the football field to end the year.

-----The third year we were joined by Jerry Bock, Mary Ferguson, Roberta Grooms, Sue Ables, Bob Brookhart, Connie Fries, Ralph Geisel, David Knorr, and Ramona Munsey. Again this year the headline maker was Brenda. Brenda and Morris Scott were caught holding hands in class. As always the two "Golden Glovers", Brenda and Ginger were back at it again. They both wanted Marty Stayrook to be "on their side". As usual all things were settled and we ended the year again with a picnic on the football field.

-----Jo Ellen Booher, Donna McCoy, Billie Jo Cleghorn, Bob Nichols, Jim Pricer, and Connie Weber were additions to the Class Of 1958 in our fourth year. Here we go again; another fight and guess who was involved. Yep, you're right, Ginger, Brenda, and their good buddy, Marty, all wanted to be Dale Evans when playing with Danny Reuber who always played Roy Rogers. Roberta Grooms was our first wrestling champion. She didn't want to read, the teacher insisted, Roberta put her on the floor in a head lock. Connie Weber lost a mitten, one of a pair she was told not to wear, and decided she had better run away. The year ended with that fabulous picnic, again on the football field.

----- At last, the fifth grade and we get to change classes. Now we are among the elite of the grade schoolers. Joining us walking the halls this year were the twins, Karon and Sharon Beily, Herb Browning, Ken Fink, Connie Parr, and David Wogaman. Jo Ellen Booher got whacks because Connie Weber, who was standing up on the swings, was mistaken for her. Darla beat the holly crap out of Jim Pricer when he wouldn't let her pitch in a noon ballgame. After school Dan Logel and Mary Hagens set up a tent for camping. Everyone knows when you camp you must have a campfire. Dan and Mary had their campfire so they could roast, of all things, potato chips. That was their last campfire as they burned down the tent and a cherry tree. Another year was history and can you guess how the year ended? On the football for another picnic, of course.

----- Now we are the top dog of elementary school, sixth graders. New friends joining our family this year were Dorothy Allen, Larry "Joe" Gross, John Shank, and Miles "Inch" Owens. Pat "The Mouth" Watson usually had tape on her mouth in class so the rest of us could get our work done. Roberta Grooms, of wrestling fame, now has a new game and it involved Denny Jourdan as her new flame. She was seen and heard singing him a love song. Donna McCoy's little brother, Billy, used Warrennetta for a punching bag. The year closed again and you know where, on the football field for a picnic.

------Now we're in junior high. We just loved the sound of that word "HIGH". Our family continued to grow with the additions of Bill Burke, Gloria Taylor, Lorzetta Simmons, John Riley, Carole Snyder, and Bob Brookhart (again). Mary Hagens kicked out a window in the teacher's restroom showing Mary Alice Brumbaugh how to do the tango. Bill Burke decided to take the low road in room "D", out in the metal building. Bill wanted to see things from another perspective so he slid under a row of desks from the back to the front. Some of the young ladies didn't think it was very funny when they saw his face looking up from under their seats. Miss Townsend held back a smile and threatened Bill's life if he would ever again do such a thing. Now a big first. Most of the homerooms had their year end picnic at Triangle Park.

-----Second year of junior high brought Charles "Bob" White, Rosalie "Sam" Rogers, Jack Jones, and Ralph Geisel (again), to the Class Of 1958. Now Bill Burke was at it again. He "kinda pulled" on a teachers dresstail when she bent over to talk to another student. He really enjoyed standing in front of the class writing on the blackboard 500 times, "I will be a gentleman at all times". Phill Wilson took Mary Alice Brumbaugh on a hayride and the moon was his topic, but only in relation to rockets and space exploration. Triangle Park and Sinclair Park was the destination for the end of year picnics.

----- Senior high at last, although we were only freshman we knew we were on our way, the big time, upper classmen to be, WHOOPEE. We welcomed Don Seyfferle, Marv Sauner, Jessie Swallows, Wilma Anspach, Ruthann Cooper (again), Bill Ellis, Jim Ramby, Toni Dutzy, and Ron Van Oss. Bob Nichols had a full load in his car which included Larry Bollheimer and Larry Safreed in the trunk with their feet and legs hanging out. Now an older gentleman driving behind him noticed the legs sticking out from under the trunk lid and about had a coronary right there on North Dixie. Gloria Taylor's study hall targets for paper wads were Jack Smart and his brother Sidney. Mrs Mattis arranged for our picnic this year at Frigidaire Park.

----- The new Sophomores were Joe Witalec, and Marie Hewlett. Our first BIG dance happened this year. Our hop was named "Sweetheart Swing" and Jerry Parsons and Sue Ables were king and queen. We got our pictures taken with our dates sitting on a swing in front of a big red and white heart. We had decorated the multi-purpose room at Timberlane school in red and white and all the couples dressed in matching sweaters, skirts and slacks. Sue Miller was dazzling in that yellow sweater and afterwards, she and Mike ate at Anticolt's on Salem Ave. Most of us were back at Triangle Park for the year end picnic.

----- By now we knew our time at Northridge was growing short. We were Juniors and we're wearing our class rings; at least some of us were. Others had put them on fingers of that certain special person they were regularly seen with before, in the halls, and after school. We knew our rings were the best and most beautiful ones ever made. Our newest classmate this year was Yvonne Hayden. The Seniors reception, "Dreamer's Holiday", was a huge success as was our prom, "Moonlight Fanasty". Darla Fisher and Jim Pricer were the leads in "Feudin Over Yonder", our Junior class play. Several classmates, including Connie Parr and Lana Becker, decided to skip school near the end of the year. As a result, they spent one day of their vacation back at school washing windows. Rosalie Rogers insisted that the modern way to be excused from class was to faint. The lunchtime stampede was usually from Mr. Harris' aeronautics class. Mr. Harris relied on Mike Mescher's watch for the correct time to break for lunch. That proved to be a big mistake as his watch somehow advanced fifteen to twenty minutes just before class each day. The t-handles on the electric boxes in the hall was a popular place to hang Jack Jones by the belt so he wouldn't hurt himself. We ended the year with a picnic at Triangle Park.

----- The calendar showed September 1957 as we started our senior year as "The Class Of 1958". Starting with us for the first time was Jo Horton and Dale Goode. John Riley's shoe mysteriously flew out the window in civics class and Carol Grigsby's chair tipped over with her in it in the same class.

We're not sure how those things happened but Bill Burke might be able to explain how things like that happen. Dale Goode and David Knorr must have used Mike Mescher's watch as their civics class was always out early for lunch. The civics classes went to the Montgomery County court house to learn about trials and Ken Fink was tried and convicted of speeding between goalposts. How did Mrs. Eubank's house go up for sale at midnight? Who made a new driveway for her? Who washed cars at midnight? Maybe Cora Belle could answer some of these questions. Norm Hayes couldn't come up with a good answer why the doctor shot him in the head. Connie Weber, escorted by David Owen, was crowned Homecoming Queen. In her court was Joyce Strange, Ginger Rogers, Brenda Burns, and Sue Ables. Joyce Strange, escorted by Norm Hayes representing tennis, was named "All Sports Queen" and in her court was Connie Weber, Darla Fisher, Sue Ables, and junior Janet Porter. Our Senior cheerleaders were Judy Cook, Darla Fisher, and Sue Ables. As captain of the Polarettes, Brenda lead seniors Ramona Munsey, Phyllis Robinette, Ginger Rogers, and the underclass members. Sport MVP's were Ken Fink- football, Ginger Rogers- field hockey, Carol Grigsby-girl's basketball, Mike Mescher-boys basketball, John Shank- tennis, Stan Knight-baseball, and Ken Fink and Mike Mescher for track. We received the Juniors with a reception named "Affair To Remember" and they returned the favor with the prom, "Fascination". Bob Nichols and Sue Ables were king and queen of the prom. The leads for the senior class play, "Two Dates For Tonight", were Ginger Rogers and Phill Wilson. Our Senior party at Timberlane school was super. Jim "Too Cool" Pricer dressed in a zebra striped "zoot suit" jacket, Bermuda shorts, knee-high argyles, and panama hat. Danny "Engineer" Logel danced with Brenda "Southern Belle" Burns. Lana "Muscles" Becker dragged Mike "The Mobster" Mescher all over the place doing the polka. I wonder where Denny and Roger were? Maybe popin' a few. Class Day performances were by Bob "Jerry Lee Lewis" Nichols, Mrs. Frank Johnson (Marv Sauner) and Mrs. Joe Gross (Bill Burke) were outstanding. Cora, Ginger, Connie, Donna, and Marty dressed as sailors and sang while Marty also played the ukulele. Brenda danced in top hat and heels, Dale Goode played guitar and sang, Joyce Strange did the hula, and we closed with the whole cast dancing as Rosie Rogers, Dale Goode, Danny Logel, and Larry Bollheimer played and sang our favorite tunes. LeSordsville Lake Amusement Park was the location for our Senior picnic and our goodbyes to our class advisers, Mr. Renner, Mr. Crowley, Miss Auld and Mrs Mattis. Northridge faculty was lead by Superintendent Charles R. Tarzinski, Principal Hugh C. Sauer, and Assistant Princpal Miss Esther Dennis. Class officers were Phill Wilson, president, Jerry Parsons, vice-president, Donna McCoy, treasurer, and Ginger Rogers, secretary. Graduation was 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 22, 1958 at the N.C.R. Auditorium. The members of the Northridge "Class Of 1958" were now and forever on their way into the real world as Northridge High School Alumni.
