Hunter Fahy is a close friend of all three of my children, and has forged different relationships with each. He's Gil's friend. He's Conar's friend. He's Billie Claire's friend. And he's MY friend. During the height of the pandemic, he was the only non-family member we allowed to visit. This was Hunter's birthday, July of 2020.

Seriously now, the building known as Ca’ Corner della Regina is a Venetian palazzo. and was built between 1724 and 1728 by Domenico Rossi for the Corner family of San Cassiano.
We spent 3 nights at the American River Guard Station over MLK Day weekend. Built in the 1940's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it was turned into a vacation rental just a few years ago. Like others before us, we recorded our experience in a journal. The cabin sports electricity downstairs, no running water, a wood stove, and a not-too-wonderful outhouse (with frosted seat). We hadn't anticipated that we wouldn't be able to drive down the road it was on. A snowplow had blocked it with a huge pile of snow. Despite having to haul water and firewood to it (and the outhouse), we had a wonderful, relaxing time. Wenatchee National Forest, near Naches, Washington.
