Dieses Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie ist ein besonders charmantes und ausdrucksstarkes Portrait eines kleinen Jungen, das durch seine Natürlichkeit, die hohe Detailtiefe und die emotionale Präsenz besticht.
Das Motiv:
Im Zentrum des Bildes steht ein Kleinkind, ungefähr drei bis fünf Jahre alt. Der Junge hat ein rundliches, kindlich-weiches Gesicht mit ausgeprägten Pausbacken, einer kleinen Stupsnase und einem fein geformten Mund. Seine dunklen, großen und sehr ausdrucksstarken Augen sind weit geöffnet und blicken direkt in die Kamera. Der Blick wirkt ernst, aufmerksam und etwas nachdenklich – fast ein wenig verwundert oder fragend. Die Augenbrauen sind leicht angehoben, was dem Gesicht eine lebendige Mimik verleiht. Der Mund ist sanft geschlossen, die Lippen leicht vorgeschoben, was einen ruhigen, zurückhaltenden Ausdruck erzeugt.
Seine dunklen Haare sind mittellang und etwas zerzaust, mit einem weichen Pony, der ihm in die Stirn fällt. Einzelne Strähnen stehen frech ab, was dem Portrait eine natürliche, ungestellte Lebendigkeit gibt.
Kleidung:
Der Junge trägt einen flauschigen, kuscheligen Tier-Overall (Onesie) mit Kapuze. Das Material ist ein dickes, hochfloriges Fleece, das extrem weich und voluminös wirkt. Die Kapuze ist besonders auffällig: Sie ist mit großen, runden Tierohren versehen, die lustig vom Kopf abstehen. Auf der Stirnpartie der Kapuze befindet sich ein weißes, flauschiges Element, das an eine Mähne oder eine Stirnplatte erinnert – möglicherweise ein Bär, Hund oder ein Fantasietier. Der Overall ist durchgehend mit dem gleichen flauschigen Stoff gearbeitet und hat einen durchgehenden Reißverschluss in der Mitte der Brust, der teilweise geöffnet ist. Die Textur des Stoffes ist im Bild hervorragend wiedergegeben – jede Faser und jede Unebenheit des Fleece-Materials ist deutlich sichtbar.
Komposition und Licht:
Die Aufnahme ist als klassisches Close-up gestaltet. Der Junge nimmt den Großteil des Bildraums ein, wobei Kopf und Oberkörper klar im Fokus stehen. Der Hintergrund ist bewusst stark unscharf gehalten und zeigt nur helle, weiche Grautöne mit einem leichten Lichtverlauf (Vignette), der den Jungen zusätzlich hervorhebt.

It's such a privilege to meet new and interesting people through my line of work. I sincerely never get tired of it! The Ortiz family are from beautiful Puerto Rico, and though they are still learning English and I had to use Google Translate on my smart phone to communicate during the photoshoot, I quickly became aware that both Joey and Rosaeda have such huge hearts and a deep love for their little family unit.
Rosaeda is pregnant and expecting their second child together in August, and it's a little boy! They have such a beautiful little girl together and I'm certain the next addition will be devilishly handsome!
So grateful for the opportunity to have met them, to create portraits for them, and like all of my portrait customers, they too will remain great friends over the years to come!

Soooo, I'm taking a little break from flickr. I have gotten so caught up in it that I've neglected important people in my life and "real life" responsibilities that deserve my attention. I'm not leaving!! I will be on to visit your photostreams and to post when I can but just not obsessively like I have been. Flickr is such a wonderful thing but it can also suck you in and drain you. I have met some of the most wonderful people and I appreciate you all more than you know for your kind words and support.
