One of the 12 year old junior racers gets ready to race at Round One of the Lucas Oil NZ Hydro Thunder Series and New Zealand Offshore Powerboat Racing held on Lake Taupo. Junior Class is open to all those 12 - 15 years of age. Engines are any Outboard or Inboard Stock Standard Engine up to 30hp.

The clouds were really low on the horizon but there was a small opening at sunset. This sun pillar was so impressive that we forgot about shopping and went picture taking instead! We don't have much snow, less than 4 inches so far.

Hauptmotive:
Eine Frau im weißen Hijab steht leicht vorgebeugt und schaut konzentriert auf ihr Smartphone, das sie mit beiden Händen hält.
Sie schiebt einen modernen Kinderwagen.
Im Kinderwagen sitzt ein kleines Kind (ca. 2–4 Jahre) mit dunklen Locken und trägt eine coole Sonnenbrille. Das Kind blickt direkt und selbstbewusst in die Kamera.
Die Frau trägt ein langes, helles Gewand, das Kind eine helle Oberbekleidung mit einem kleinen Aufdruck.
Szene & Stimmung:
Die Szene spielt auf einer sonnigen, gepflasterten städtischen Promenade oder Platz mit klassischer Architektur im Hintergrund.
Das Licht ist hell und erzeugt starke Kontraste sowie deutliche Schatten.
Im Hintergrund sind unscharf Gebäude, Bäume und weitere Passanten zu erkennen.
Besondere Wirkung:
Das Bild lebt vom starken Kontrast zwischen der abgelenkten Mutter (klassischer „Handy-Moment“) und dem selbstbewussten, direkt in die Kamera blickenden Kind. Die Schwarz-Weiß-Umsetzung gibt dem Bild eine zeitlose, fast filmische und etwas melancholische Note.
This little prayer chapel sits in front of the dome church. I actually helped build this one. I did most of the caulking. The walls were made with one by ones.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
