Finally got the camera back from the shop. The D300 started having problems back in Christmas, where I'd occasionally get shots that were all white. Eventually, it got so bad that when we were out at an open house, the shutter completely locked up. After that I switched to the Epson. After a while, I pulled the camera back out, and found out it could still take pictures, but only at large apertures. Anything too small, and it would lock up again. It started getting worse, so I sent it in for out-of-warranty repair, and had it fixed for around $200. It came back with a fixed shutter, and they also cleaned it up, replaced the rubber, and made it look like new! Not bad!

Only just got home - I had a friend tonight who needed wine and a shoulder after her husband decided to be a total asshole and be too rough with her kid (who is fine, thank God.) Let me tell you, that man does not want to run into me in a dark alley tonight. (Yes, I realize the picture is fully at odds with the description, but I had two minutes.) Anyway, she called the cops and he's out of the house and not allowed to see the kids unsupervised and there's all kinds of court and anger management and stuff that he has to do now, but damn...sometimes life sucks.
