This little green-clad faerie is hoping to disappear amongst the grass, newly-greened by all the recent rainfall...
the faerie girls' dresses were originally black knee-length dresses. they were used for another music video for zach glifianakis, but got utterly transformed for the switch. a mixture of water and bleach and a treatment of exactly 30 seconds created the spider-webby and deteriorated look of their dresses.
erin and i decided to dress all funky like "faeries" (see: weird and crazy) and take pictures of eachother. why?

I don’t own Photoshop and I process/edit my pictures as little as possible.

Spinel Faerie is the first in a series of Gemstone Faeries. She is about 9.25 inches tall, and is made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton fiber fill & thread, and Swarovski pearls. She will have natural black spinel on her dress. All the colors used represent colors of spinel. She is ball-jointed, and has 13 points of articulation.
A beautiful moment captured as a little Fae danced oblivious to the world around. I had my soft focus filter on and had to shoot under a table. I got lucky with the wash of color from the lighting, I only tweaked the contrast a bit. It was one of those great moments you have to be in the right place to catch.
