As the sun was setting for the day, NS 10G takes its turn around the curve at Lilly, PA. Another beautiful way to end the day of watching trains in Lilly, PA. Taken 5/13/20
Farewell, fair day and fading light,
Mark the huge sun now downward soar,
Farewell. We twain shall meet no more.

Never owned Midge, when I went to pick a doll for my birthday back in 96, I instantly fell in love with Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie (African American) I chose her over Teresa, Midge and Caucasian Barbie, if I was to choose another Jewel Hair Mermaid doll it would have to be Midge. I still wonky original Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie but her hair has been cut (yes I played beauty salon lol!) shoulder length and I still have her mermaid outfit but it has faded from hours of play, I still have some of the stars that I used to decorate her with too.
Jag försöker utmana mig själv att hitta en bild bland de jag råkat ta under veckan som kan passa temat. Den här veckan får #fader representeras av Theodor Kallifatides, en svensk författare vars barn fick höra att deras fader inte kunde svenska så bra?
Trailing the westbound coal empty, a DP unit fades into the sunset, literally, as it passes the coaling tower at Nelson, IL.
might be on/off/away for a bit.
lots of stuff going on.
the next two weeks of work will be living hell.
St Michael, Rushmere, Suffolk
A small round-towered church set away from its village - indeed, it is closer to Mutford than it is to Rushmere. Within living memory the church was derelict and roofless, but was sensitively restored and remains in use. A fading wall painting of St Anthony is set in a window splay as at nearby Gisleham, and a headstone in the churchyard has a bullet hole through it put there by a German pilot during World War Two.
These women seem to be fading away in the mists of Tanner Fountain, near the Science Center at Harvard.
Our Daily Challenge ~ THINGS WITH WINGS is the topic for Tuesday July 10
Thanks to www.flickr.com/photos/skeletalmess/ for the erosion texture.
Here you see a painted index card wrapped in wax paper in order to fade what's painted underneath on the index card: a rainbow of orange, yellow and green in acrylic paint.
The wax paper is a "drop cloth" of sorts on my art table and has a delightful pattern of previous painting with acrylics.
When the happiness has faded away, when the smile has left my eyes, I’m forced to face the truth. My body is a cold tomb without the laughter; an empty shell that hides nothing. It leaves me no choice but to feel the uneasiness that is left, and to question it. Was it all a lie? I thought that the happiness was real - that my smiles were sincere. But then why is this uneasiness echoing through my core? Where did I go wrong? Or was I just wrong the whole time? How long has this uneasiness been hiding deep within my soul?
Perhaps it is the residue of torturous daydreams, which I’ve been battering my heart with for years. Perhaps it comes from the inward struggle between my raw, uncensored thoughts and the hippocracy that I’m pushing away. Or perhaps it is the truth that I’ve been hiding from myself - perhaps it is who I really am.
I can feel myself fading as the uneasiness eats away at my soul.
I tried doing a fade. For my first try, I'm pretty happy with it, although I intend to do much better the second time around. I used my good ol' Sally Hansen Chrome Nail Makeup in Platinum Chrome on the tips, Sinful Out of This World on the bottom two-thirds, and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Diamonds all over. Depending on the light, the fade looks smoother, but I couldn't get that on film.
Also, my nails are finally starting to grow out a little! I finally had them looking all nice, and then I broke three of them and had to cut them back to even them out. I doubled my Biotin for a couple weeks after to give them a boost, and they're finally looking good again!
Last hurrah for bouquet of once-pink roses, faded to their papery remains. I have photographed this particular display in several of its incarnations. The remnants were finally consigned to the rubbish bin.
Kay (mathteacher) and Ralph's Aunt Rowena passed away early this morning, she was quite elderly and in her 90's and so her time came. Yesterday on the way back from our ramble Kay and I stopped to check on her as she was in a declining state and when Kay dropped me off at home she noticed this faded magnolia flower on my tree by the driveway and loved it. If you know Kay you know she loves rusty colored things:). I urged her to take the time to photograph it but she wanted to get home and get cleaned up to go back to Rowena's side so after she left I snapped this photo. When I heard from Kay this morning that Rowena had passed on, the thought came to my mind that she was like this faded beauty so this is for Aunt Rowena......
This sunset over the lake of Constance turns the sky into vanilla colors. The dark rain clouds on the right side gives a feeling of fading the picture out. The 2 kayak paddlers give nice silhouettes to this sunset picture.
I would have gone almost over. At closer inspection, this fading tulip turned out to be a beauty.
Not much color left as you walk through the woods. These leaves maintain a faint pink glow.

More from Lavera Beach, Grenada.
This place is really a beautiful spot. I'm glad we are able to see it before it gets developed. There is a resort and a neighborhood in the planning stages that will bring buildings right up to the shores here. Not so good for the turtles that nest here, but probably a good thing for the local residents of Sauteurs, the main city here in the parish of St. Patrick.
They also have a couple of other tourist destinations, one being Carib's Leap or Leapers Hill. This is where the last of the Carib Indians decided they would rather jump off a cliff than be killed or captured by the French. The other is Bathaway Beach which is just on the other side of the point that separates it and this beach. It is a much more populated beach, probably because it is easier to get to, but still seems to be largely a locals beach.
It will be interesting to see how all this changes, but I'm glad we are able to visit it now, virtually unspoiled.
