Ich stand am Ufer, der Schwan kam direkt auf mich zu. Kurz vor mir setzte er auf dem Wasser auf. Ich dachte schon, er würde auf mich fliegen.

I stood on the shore, the swan came directly to me. Shortly before me he sat on the water. I thought he was flying at me.

Shone by the spring sunlight against the blue sky, Prunus mume (‘Ume’ in Japanese) was in full blossom. It started blooming just a couple of weeks ago.

When I evolved a higher Goddess emerged, reserved, more subtle.

We have been covered in smoke and haze from a number of major forest fires in Canada that drifted South to us.

Due to these fires, the Sunsets and Rising Moons have been very orange and pretty. However, it also makes it hard to get a sharp photo.. :(

We were hoping we could see the full Moon rise better from the top of Hurricane Ridge up in the mountains. But it was still quite hazy up there as well.

I actually wanted to go to sleep, but then the light from outside shone very brightly. I could not resist and took my camera, but since our balcony is currently somewhat crowded, I had no place for the tripod. So this is a freehand capture.

For over a week I had been wanting to get out in the early morning light and photograph the Great Horned Owl fledglings. Every morning it was either high winds or oppressive fog that scrubbed my mission. Finally good conditions prevailed and I had a great morning session just as the sun rose.

It took me a while to find them. They had progressed from "branchers" to fledglings and had moved to a different tree about 50 yards from the nest tree.

Slightly different edit to try and bring out a bit more of a plain full moon subject

As the rising sun’s rays start to illuminate the clouds the full moon decides it is time to vacate the scene.

The last full moon of 2020.

I love watching chipmunks gathering the food and packing it to the full capacity of their cheeks :) This one was no exception ;))

OK, so I saw this at a gas station stop on a road trip and knew I just had to have it. Despite preferring to find empty cans, I decided to buy one. Cruising down the highway I found a little Forgiato Blow on Youtube to blast through my trucks speakers, I popped open the can and had a few sips. I wondered if the drink's objective would be achieved, especially the "Peerless and Fearless" part. I wondered if, after drinking, I would start flying flags from the back of my truck and maybe even wear a red hat.

Well it didn't take too long, only a couple of sips in fact, I turned off the rantings of a fool and pulled the truck over to the side of the road. I snapped back to reality, uttered an extended, "Yuck..." and emptied the rest of the can out onto the side of the highway. At that moment I thought, what BS this all is and knew that smashing up this can was going to be well worth the money I paid for it. And so it goes, another story and another can added to the collection!

FYI: Preparation of this can was as close as I want to come to cutting up a finger on the torn can's sharp edges or from the razor knife used to help model/release the wording that was on the back of the can. BTW: I was also quite pleased with the way this one turned out and instead of putting it in the bag with the rest of the cans, I told Marybeth that I should make a little stand and case to display it on a shelf. She gave me a look and walked away...

It´s always pretty amazing to me how the seasons transition so boldly here, fall has so much orange and red from the fallling leaves, the winter with drab browns and gray or white of snow and then spring with these awesome blue, green and bright orange from the flowers, grass and setting sun.

I think it´s really refreshing to see the same place look so different all year round !!

Composite of two images shot last night. On the shot of the moon, I was testing out the capabilities of my new Nikon 200-500mm lens; this was shot at the full 500 which on my Nikon D7500 is equivalent to 750mm.

My friends, I'm not in avoidance, just very busy. Typical work week is in 70 hour range which leaves very little time for my favorite pastime. Will try to to be more responsive as this project comes to an end. Thanks to all that view my pics!
