Top floors of the 30-story "Five 55" tower, the former Blaak Office Tower located at Blaak 555 in the Rotterdam city center.
This picture shot from the Schiedamsedijk, zoomed in, showing the front part of the tower facing the Blaak. Taken on a very sunny and bright afternoon (15-8-2021), showing lights, shadows and a bit of reflection.
Test ride of the Nikon Z50 body, in this shot paired with my Nikkor 18-300 VR zoom lens using the FTZ adapter. Hardly any fringes ooc, despite taken in bright sunlight zoomed in @125mm.
The Z50 is a joy to use, well done Nikon! Post-processing done on the NEF in Lightroom.

I can imagine how this gentle looking creek got its name as it makes a steep drop down from the Forest Oaks area near US-11 and I-81. It has carved a little canyon through the rock, and when it rains it all funnels down to Rocky Point.

My Lisa baby crossed the rainbow on May 6th. I miss her. She was the 3rd born kitty out of the litter. My grey kitty. She was always very friendly with everyone, and was very inquisitive. She would always come to see who the visitors were while the other kitties were more shy. She liked the outdoors, and would frequently take little walks around the house with me. She liked to chew on grass, she also liked to sharpen her claws on the sofa and sit with me in the kitchen while I cooked. She caught me a mouse in March, we were trying to catch it as it ran around the living room, Lisa sprung into action and got it, releasing it by my feet, then helping me pin it down again so I could take it and let it go outside. She's with Suzie, Tufie, Charm and Lucky now, hopefully relaxing in the great open fields under blue skies, enjoying the warm breeze. Lisa baby - July 9, 2008 - May 6, 2024

Am Neujahrmorgen gegen ca. 6:45 Uhr wurde der Bewohner eines Mehrfamilienhauses in Burgstemmen durch den Alarm seines Rauchmelders geweckt. Mit einem T-Shirt vor dem Mund hatte er noch versucht herauszufinden, wo die starke Verqualmung, deren Ursprung und Brandherd vermutlich im Wohnzimmer war, herkam. Da die Wohnung sehr stark verqualmt war, rettete er sich zum Glück unverletzt ins Freie. Als die ersten Einsatzkräfte der Feuerwehr Burgstemmen zu dem als Dachstuhlbrand gemeldeten Feuer eintrafen, kam bereits starker, dichter, schwarzer Rauch und Flammen aus dem Dach. Sofort entschied man sich die Feuerwehren aus Heyersum und Mahlerten nachzualarmieren sowie die Drehleiter aus Gronau und eine 2. Drehleiter aus Sarstedt. Im weiteren Verlauf wurde dann frühzeitig Vollalarm für die Gemeindefeuerwehr Nordstemmen gegeben. Da die Hydranten durch Schneemassen und vereiste Gehwege schwer zu erreichen waren und das Hydrantennetz in dem Teil des Ortes auch nicht besonders Leistungsstark ist, entschied man sich den SW 1000 aus Sorsum-Wittenburg und weitere Feuerwehren aus dem Stadtgebiet Elze zu alarmieren, um eine Förderstrecke von der ca. 1 km entfernten Leine mit 2-B-Leitungen aufzubauen. Diese Förderstrecke wurde auf eine 3. Leitung erweitert um auch vom hinteren Bereich des Gebäudes einen effektiven Löschangriif durchzuführen. Gegen kurz vor 10 Uhr, wurde die Schwerpunktfeuerwehr Elze dann noch mit der neu beschafften Wärmebildkamera, für die dies der Allererste Einsatz war, zum aufspüren von Glutnestern nachalarmiert. Im Einsatz befanden sich ca. 150 Einsatzkräfte der Feuerwehr, der Schlauchwechselwagen und Gerätewagen Atemschutz der FTZ des Landkreises, sowie ein Rettungswagen des DRK und die Polizei. Zur Schadenshöhe konnte derzeit noch keine Auskunft erteilt werden. Die Polizei hat die Ermittlungen aufgenommen.

A woodpecker once built this cave in the trunk of a weeping willow (Salix babylonica).
But his wife was dissatisfied with the cave, so he has to hollow out a new on in another tree.
Up to now the cave was not used by any other animal as yet.
So we have free housing space here!
Captured freehand with the Nikon Z 50 and the AF-P Nikkor 70-300/4.5-5.6E ED VR from 2017 together with the FTZ adaptor. Distance was about 20m.

A closer look at the deteriorating structure reveals some nice details, so I was getting the focus where it needed to be. That said, I've since switched the camera off of Focus Peaking because it doesn't work as good in color as in b&w. From this test on I'll be using mainly the rangefinder feature to manual focus.
