There were -15°C and a harsh, cold wind from the North was blowing. The thick layer of sea smoke was like a frightening, living organism. The conditions were horrible and I enjoyed every second:).. really.

A grey heron spotted this morning at our local Nature Reserve, looking for fish in one of the lakes. He spotted us too, so this shot was difficult to get as I had to squeeze through the surrounding vegetation, plus I had Marnie with me. Thankfully she's soft-footed and quiet, the perfect companion around wildlife. Not the best quality shot, I didn't have a long lens and this is heavily cropped. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to get it.

At the Amsterdam Light Festival 2019-2020, one of the artworks was a metropolis plagued by floods and other natural disasters. Artist Utskottet demonstrated how this menacing scene can become a frightening reality.

Frightening - it is hard to believe that such a beautiful place as Lake Powell is only a shadow of its former self. The images show the dramatic effects of the mega-drought that has been going on for years, leaving the lake only 24% full.

Global warming is expected to make droughts more severe in the future. Even in “low emission” climate scenarios (forecasts that are based on the assumption that future carbon dioxide emissions will increase relatively slowly), models predict precipitation may decline by 20-25 percent over most of California, southern Nevada, and Arizona by the end of this century. Precipitation declines combined with booming urban populations will present a significant challenge to Western water managers in the near future

NOT BROKEN
A little flower was very curious
she felt that she was being fenced in
by a grey alternate world
where confusion reigned
and tore at her sweet heart
and time and time again
she let forgiveness lead her
through the fence in curiosity
and she was foolish
to let that world
cause her so much pain
and aim at her so much animosity
in her own little world the sun still shone
and all the other flowers
gathered around her;
made daisy chains
placed them in her plaited hair
and sang sweet soothing words
a lullaby of love and care
sunlight filtered through the grass
and lit up dew like precious jewels
her wounds ran deep
and left her tattered dress
still white but torn
but no-one saw this mess
all they saw when they looked at her
was the same little flower
they knew and loved
complex and often misunderstood
but as much a part of nature
as soft and gentle Summer showers
fragile as this flower is
inside her heart is warm and strong
and goodness shines from inside out
and radiates her whole life long
those cruel words written;
those harsh jibes spoken;
never will they harm her
she will and is protected always
by angels; and she's not broken.

The Busó festivities at Mohács in southern Hungary are a six-day carnival in late February to mark the end of winter, named for the busós, frightening-looking costumed people (traditionally men) wearing wooden masks and big woolly cloaks. The festival is multifaceted, including a children’s costume contest, a display of the art of mask carvers and other craftspeople, the arrival of more than 500 busós in rowboats on the Danube for a march through the city alongside horse-drawn or motorized fantasy vehicles, the burning of a coffin symbolizing winter on a bonfire in the central square, and feasts and music throughout the city. The tradition originated with the Croatian minority in Mohács, but today the busó is a general emblem of the city. The arts underlying the festivities are preserved by self-organized groups of busós of all cultural backgrounds, many of whom pass on the techniques of mask carving and ritual celebration to younger generations.
I was in my local woods looking for birds. I’d put out bird food but only seemed to attract this squirrel. I kept shouting and banging to frighten him off but only succeeded in frightening the birds!
I find it hard to believe that this is a very frightening REPEAT, God willing it ends better than the second world war! Wishing safety for the Ukrainians and also worldwide. Wars are going on and we don't seem to learn our lesson. Why do we want to maim, kill and destroy, what sense does it make? Let's live and let live in peace, not in friction and war!

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

This is my (slightly pathetic) attempt of chasing and capturing thunderbolt and lightning. Very, very frightening me... Anyway: I still love the pastel colours and that you can actually see the two lightning bolts in the back... Pathetic. I know.
This will probably be my last upload for a while, unless I dig into my old portable HD and go back to archives, I''m physically unable to take photos at the time . . . maybe not again. We'll see.

Fearful, Foggy Night

Damp darkness befalls as gray fog settles in.
Frightening shadows lingering within.
Footsteps echo through the black, eerie night
With scrapings and rustlings, yet nothing in sight.
Misty clouds floating across the dull moon.
Heart stopping feelings of horror and doom.
Howling squeals pierce the smoggy air.
My heart pounding harder in panicky fear.
The faster and faster I try to race,
My shaky, weak legs won't keep up the pace.
A scary, awful blood-curdling scream.
I feel so faint, as if in a dream.
Ghostly eyes glowing in bushes distant,
Getting closer and closer in an instant.
Frozen stiff, I shut my eyes tight,
Holding my breath with all my might.
Then swishing past in the chilly breeze,
Opening one eye, I suddenly breathe.
Finally putting my fears at ease.
Oh, it's just Trick or Treaters on All Hallows' Eve!
At this time in our lives when the world is so frightening , please take care and look after yourself . We together are fighting a psychotic murdering stalker who we can't reason with and can't see!

It frightens me when I see a thunderstorm approaching in the mountains. I start looking for shelter running through the do's and don'ts. 'If your hair stands on end, move immediately.' I hope I would move in the right direction. Panic does not help you think clearly.
It's a frightening thought, that in one fraction of a moment you can fall in that kind of love that takes a lifetime to get over.
