When you come across a friendly dog, the owners are usually friendly too! In this case, both were enjoying a crisp winter's day. In our case, we took a break on the way home after having to drive an hour out of town to buy a roof rake to clear off some of the snow! The stores in our city were completely sold out.
Here's a posed portrait of a beautiful young lady...the lighting is rather harsh and the background pretty terrible, too, but I like her so much that I thought it'd be a shame if the shot were to die on my hard drive and never saw the light of day so to speak...

Met these two beauties on a visit to a Farm Shop at Byley. Very friendly even though I didn't have any carrots and quite happy just to nuzzle my fingers, so gentle.
A motor cyclist gives a wave to the crew on Chicago & North Western F7 417 as it leads 425 and four more sisters on the freight from Belvidere. This is south of Elgin IL. at what I believe is Route 25, now a four lane road. April 1980.
This was another encounter at the dump. While Bob was dumping bags of leaves, this little squirrel popped up and looked at me, in the van, while perched on some old homemade shelves.
This lovely female speckled bush cricket was quite happy to come onto my hand (though she refused to face the camera!).
