Always on the lookout for a composition, I spotted this feather tucked behind some woody bits of an old creeper on a stone wall. I reduced my exposure then in my edit I used curves to tone down the wood and lighten the feather to make it stand out .
One of my favorite photos I've ever made. I frequently photographed the bees writhing amongst the stamens fallen in clumps on the petals of my Southern Magnolia's flowers. This little feller actually fell off the petal while clutching an armful of stamens as he fell, but of course quickly righted himself and flew back onto the petal. Just an awesome capture for me. I was invited to this release of a Red-tailed Hawk that was found starving to death and ill 4 months ago. A wonderful woman from the Raptor Rescue Center has cared for it the past 4 months bringing it to optimum health for this release. There wasn't much time or prep for this capture...as soon as the hood came off it took to the air and never looked back...once again becoming the 'free bird' it was meant to be.
"Free for All"
After a recent rain storm, numerous Salmon throw themselves at the first dam after an exhausting fight upriver. Those that make it over have to contend with several more dams, but those who survive - thrive.

once upon a time you were free to travel, after working a whole week , it was nice that on a sunny day , you could go the coast , to relax enjoying the beach and the sea, but then came COVID, a very small animal, spreading like the plage it paralysed the people by making them sick and kill the weak ones, the government got scared and contaminated the people with their fear and locked them up in their homes, art and fun were banned, empty places remained
Wild Horse Sanctuary, South Dakota. Thousands of acres in South Dakota where rescued wild horses (mostly saved from Bureau of Land Management's "culling") are allowed to Run Free and enjoy life as nature had intended. A very worthy charitable organization.
I envy birds their ability to fly. It must be wonderful to rise from the earth and move across the land using wings - riding the air - above it all.

Kinetic Photograph made with one single long exposure shot, printed straight out of camera.
If you’d like to read more details about how the shot is made see below. And for more of my kinetic photographs here’s my set, "Drawing with Light"

Kinetic: Relating to, caused by, or producing motion.
These are called “Kinetic” photographs because there is motion, energy, and movement involved, specifically my and the camera’s movements.
I choose a light source and/or subject, set my camera for a long exposure (typically around 4 seconds), focus on my subject and push the shutter button. When the shutter opens I move the camera around with my hands...large, sweeping, dramatic movements. And then I will literally throw the camera several feet up into the air, most times imparting a spinning or whirling motion to it as I hurl it upward. I may throw the camera several times and also utilize hand-held motion several times in one photo. None of these are Photoshopped, layered, or a composite photo...what you see occurs in one shot, one take.
Aren’t I afraid that I will drop and break my camera? For regular followers of my photostream and this series you will know that I have already done so. This little camera has been dropped many times, and broken once when dropped on concrete outside. It still functions...not so well for regular photographs, but superbly for more kinetic work.
