Thank you everyone for your visit, favorites and comments

I watched Head last night for the first time as an adult. I thought it clever and amusing - - the Monkees question their television existence and impact on culture. In this scene Frank Zappa is playing "The Critic," and tells Davy Jones "You should spend more time on your music, because the youth of America depend on you to show the way."

Surprised & delighted to see that this old town area had such an interesting amount of street art.

“Interviewer: 'So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?'

Frank Zappa: 'You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?”

“I'm vile and perverted.

I'm obsessed and deranged.

I've existed for years but very little has changed.

I'm the tool of the government and industry too.

For I'm destined to rule and regulate you.

You may think I'm pernicious, but you can't look away.

I'll make you think I'm delicious with the stuff that I say.

I'm the best you can get... have you guessed me yet?

I'm the slime oozing out of your TV set....”

Ok, I promise, this is the last one of the Red Square. (Russia, Moscow, guess where, July 2006)

PS: I like Deep Purple, but as far as I know, Frank Zappa never played in the Kremlin...

Please leave an honest comment re my photography, I am open to any criticism, thank you.

Please no group advertisements.

Another oldie. Detail. FZ was alive when I did this, many moons ago.

Pop, as in Monterey Pop, as opposed to the "king of pop".

The aficionados will have understood.

From www.seeing-stars.com/ :

"Frank Zappa's (1940-1993) grave is also unmarked. It's grave #100, located about eight yards to the west of Roy Orbison's grave, near a large tree. Frank's unmarked grave is right next to (just to the right of) the marked grave of actor Lew Ayres. Always an outlandish individualist, Frank Zappa (and his Mothers of Invention) turned out over 60 unique albums before succumbing to prostate cancer at the age of 53."

Renovations on the historic Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle began on November 14, 2022 and are expected to keep the building closed to the public until May of 2024.

The Conservatory originally opened in 1904 and was designed by architect Albert Kahn

Bref (!), Muffin Man ♫♪♫♪♫♪ ....
