Technically they're not quite fractals but the backlit frondlets of this tree fern (Dicksonia antarctica) certainly appear like them.
This ferny frond was fondly found in the forest - very close to the base of that big ole tree in a recent posting. The tree fern to whom the frond belongs was lucky to have escaped the Riveaux Road fire of 2019.

This is a mud flat in the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, just below Hafragilsfoss in East Iceland.
It's hard to get a sense of perspective until you lock onto the ripples in the river itself, middle left.
I tried a wider shot of this but the details of the canyon walls around the mud distracted from all the sparkling, golden fractals that caught my eye in the first place.
I love fractals.

While working on this artistic composition, I wanted to explore how repetition and symmetry can transform a simple architectural photograph into an entirely new visual universe. I created this geometric convergence by multiplying and mirror-arranging an original image, generating this pattern that seems to pulse toward an infinite center.
What particularly interested me was seeing how the lines and forms of the original architecture could, once freed from their context and repeated in pattern, reveal unexpected visual rhythms. The black and white conversion amplifies the abstraction and purity of forms, transforming a functional architectural element into a visual meditation on symmetry.
This digital creation approach allows me to explore the boundaries between documentary photography and pure artistic creation. Through this quadruple repetition, I seek to invite the viewer on an optical journey where architecture becomes a pretext for an immersive visual experience, balancing mathematical order and contemplative vertigo.
