Spent part of the Canada Day weekend in the Eganville area where you can find the Fourth Chute falls on the Bonnechere River. The falls are easily accessible and flow next to the Bonnechere Caves. I had visited the falls a number of years ago and was excited to return with camera in hand (as well as a tad more understanding of photography from the previous visit) to capture the majestic spectacle of water rapidly descending over rock.
Hunter's fourth grade class got to compete in their own "Iditarod" race after following the actual dog sled race in class. The kids were arranged in teams of three and had to construct their sleds, with one kid being the musher and the other two being the "dogs". Here Hunter's posing with his team their sled. They finished first.

I was hoping to get the ACE 24590 edition or the Star 1977 edition since I like those covers better. But I'm glad to have the book at least. Maybe I'll try again and see if I can get to the gold. I hope there weren't significant changes to the text in this BART edition.

Almost nothing is known about the building of this tower of which little remains. It is thought to have been built by James Douglas, the Fourth Earl of Morton, in the 1500s. This may well be the case as Morton wrote of horse racing on the Solway Sands which lie only one mile to the south of the tower. Last of the four regents of James VI, Morton was executed in 1581 for complicity in the murder of Lord Darnley, second husband of James' mother Mary Queen of Scots. The tower passed to Robert, 9th Lord Maxwell in 1621, and in later times into other hands.

The removable fourth wall between Polly's and Eleanor's bedroom and the study has finally been created and papered. There are a few touches to go, but I couldn't resist putting the room together with some furniture inside and peering in through the French doors to see how it looks!

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) is seen at the start of nautical twilight from Lancaster, PA (40 degrees N). The comet was easy to see with 7x50 binoculars from nautical twilight to the start of the blue hour before sunrise. The image was made of a stack of 24 eight second exposures, tracked on the nucleus. The images were taken with a Canon 80D and a Canon 200 mm f/2.8L II lens. (ISO 400, f/5.6, starting at 4:26 AM EDT) -- It was great to be able to see a comet in the viewfinder for once!!
