After a pretty dull dawn, the Sun found the gap on the horizon and gave us (a couple of other photographers were there) a show. I’ve been doing this a long time now and you just can’t ever tell what will happen. Show up and wait.

- LINCOLNOSE2®2008
probably at El Mirage in 1997 -- from a box of slides I found at an antique store in Los Angeles in 2019.
Part of a large batch of vintage negatives I purchased at an estate sale. They seem to be mostly NJ, 1930s and 1940s. If you recognize a building, please comment and let me know where it is.
'go on, go on, go on...'
3rd remix of material from D.O.A (1950). Shamefully the band aren’t credited in the film. As I understand it they are: James Streeter (sax), Shifty Henry (bass), Al "Cake" Wichard (drums), Ray LaRue (piano), and Teddy Buckner (trumpet) but the actual sounds heard are from a second, later, recording of another band under the direction of sax player Maxwell Davis. Found this photo in an old diary..it read
Ben Lawers ...5.5 miles..Very windy with snow on tops.
Today I took a right battering in the form of winds that almost knocked me off my feet. Snow was also a bit of a hindrance to say the least, It stings the face you know,a pair of full face swimming goggles would have come in handy. We had planned to go to the summit of An Stuc but it disappeared in a blizzard as we struggled to stand on Ben Lawers...decided to retreat back down via Ben Ghlas.
