ok. ok. here is the deal. i am making a zine. i would like YOU to be in it. yes, YOU, whoever is reading this. this is an open call for submissions.

here are the details:

it has a theme. the theme is what you see above you: "Everything's Okay, I Drew This For You." that is the title also. anyways, you have to have those words, including the COMMA and the PERIOD somewhere in your piece.

ALSO, i am screen printing this whole entire thing, so that puts some restrictions on the piece as well. it can only be two colors. and here are the colors: BLACK and BRIGHT GREEN. make sure your BLACK is very opaque, and that the GREEN is everywhere you want it, b/c i will be spot color printing this, so i need to be able to make a stencil out of your art fairly easily.

ALSO, since i am screen printing this, i can't have a million people included. sorry guys, but, depending on the amount of people interested, i may have to turn some of you away. please don't get mad. if you aren't included in this project i'll make sure you are in the next one. ON THAT NOTE, i would like to shoot for 16 people at the least. and at the most 20 – 24. the EDITION will be anywhere from 30 – 50.

ALSO the page size will be either be 5.5" x 6.5" or 5.5" x 7.5". most likely the latter. just keep that in mind when you are making your work, b/c it will be resized to that.

ALSO. these need to be all drawings. no photography. (sorry, but that is the point of the theme.)

i would like to have this all done before South By Southwest hits in Austin. b/c there will be plenty of potential buyers during that. it starts on March 18, and i probably need a week to put all of this together, so have your stuff turned in by MARCH 11. AGAIN that is MARCH 11. no exceptions.

AND once again make sure the BLACK is OPAQUE. or VERY DARK. ok? ok.

now please, please people. submit some stuff. i don't care if you scrawl it down on notebook paper during class. anything is art. i love you all, and i just want people who are interested in making stuff to be included. IF YOU HAVE ANY comments or suggestions or questions, please email me. thanks.

This is SO not a great shot - out of focus and overexposed but I love the bright pink here.

This flower is like many of my friends. Some of them hide in the dark corners of my heart where they love me in just the right way at just the right time. Others are like the brightly overexposed pinks who brighten my day when I want to run away - mostly from the pressures of work. Most of all, this flower represents the sweet fragrance of all my friends - that includes everyone here on Flickr who have become so dear to me.

The last couple of weeks have been very hard for me on both a personal and professional level. Until the elections are over here in SA and some weeks beyond 22 April, things will still be tough workwise. Thank you all for your encouraging comments, flickrmails and emails - never in my wildest dreams did I think I would meet so many wonderful people from all over the world and get to know and love everyone so. You're all so special in your own ways - yes, even MikeJonesSweetiePie!!! :)

Thanks for your love in this crazy-hectic-busy time for me. You guys are amazing! Love you all.
